Touching ‘‘ON’’ or ‘‘OFF’’ in the
display turns the air conditioning on
andoff.YouwillseeA/CONorA/C
OFF in the display. You can manually select various
f unctions of the Climate Control
system when it is in f ully automatic
mode. All other f eatures remain
automatically controlled. Some of
these f unctions appear in the A/C
display. Press the A/C button next to
the display to show these functions.
Making any manual selection causes
the indicator in the AUTO button to
go out.
When you turn the A/C of f , the sys-
tem cannot regulate the inside tem-
perature if you set the temperature
control buttons below the outside
temperature. With the A/C off, use
the temperature control buttons to
adjust the temperature of the air
flow to a comfortable setting.

Use the MODE icons in the A/C
display to select the vents the air
flows from. Some air will flow from
the dashboard corner vents and the
side vents in all modes.The main air f low is divided

You can manually select the f an
speed by touching any of the f an
control icons on the display.This button controls the source of air
going into the system. When the
indicator in this button is lit, air f rom
the car’s interior is sent through the
system again (Recirculation mode).
When the indicator is off, air is
brought in f rom outside the car
(Fresh Air mode).You can, f or example, manually put
the system in recirculation mode
when driving through an area of
smoke or f umes.

The button directs the main

def rosting. It also overrides any
MODE selection you may have made.
When you turn of f by
pressing the button again, the
system returns to its former settings. When you select , the A/C

Your car has f our temperature
control buttons on the climate
control panel, two f or the driver and
two f or the passenger. The driver’s
andpassenger’ssidescanbe
controlled independently by pushing
these buttons when the green
indicator in the DUAL button is lit.
Push AUTO or and the set
temperatures appear in the display.
When the indicator in the DUAL
button is off, you can adjust both
sides to the same temperature by
pressing the or buttons on the
driver’s side.
To set the driver’s side temperature
to a different value than the
passenger’s, press the DUAL button,
then press the or buttons on
the driver’s side. To set the
passenger’s side to a dif f erent value
than the driver’s, press the or
buttons on the passenger’s side. You
can adjust the passenger’s side
without pressing the DUAL button
first.When you set the temperature to its
lower limit or its upper limit, it will be
displayed as ‘‘ ’’ or ‘‘ ’’.

steering column. Do not cover the
sensors or spill any liquid on them.

The band and f requency that the
radio was last tuned to is displayed.
To change bands, press the AM/FM
button. On the FM band, ST will be
displayed if the station is broadcast-
ing in stereo. Stereo reproduction on
AM is not available.
Your Honda’s audio system provides
clear reception on both AM and FM
bands, while the preset bars allow
you to easily select your f avorite
stations.
The ignition switch must be in
ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II) to
operate the audio system. Turn the
system on by pushing the PWR/
VOL knob or the AM/FM button.
Adjust the volume by turning the
same knob.
You can use any of f ive methods to
f ind radio stations on the selected
band: TUNE, SEEK, SCAN, AUTO
SELECT, and the preset bars.

µµ The SCAN function
samples all the stations with strong
signals on the selected band. To
activate it, press the SCAN button,
then release it. You will see SCAN in
the display. The system will scan up
the band for a station with a strong
signal. When it f inds one, it will stop
and play that station for
approximately f ive seconds. If you do
nothing, the system will then scan
f or the next strong station and play
that f or f ive seconds. When it plays a
station that you want to continue
listening to, press the SCAN button
again.
Use the TUNE bar to tune
the radio to a desired f requency.
Press the side of the bar to tune
to a higher f requency, and the side to tune to a lower
f requency. The f requency numbers
will start to change rapidly. Release
the bar when the display reaches the
desired f requency. To change the
f requency in small increments, press
and release the TUNE bar quickly. The SEEK f unction
searches the band for a station with
a strong signal. To activate it, press
theSEEKbaroneitherthe or , then release it. Depending on
which side you press, the system
scans upward or downward from the
current f requency. It stops when it
finds a station with a strong signal.

To store a f requency:
UsetheTUNE,SEEK,orSCAN
function to tune the radio to a
desired station. You can store the
f requencies of your f avorite radio
stations in the three preset bars.
Each side of the bars (1 6) will
store one f requency on the AM band,
and two f requencies on the FM band.
Select the desired band, AM or
FM. FM1 and FM2 let you store
two f requencies with each preset
bar.
Pick the preset number (1 6)
you want for that station. Press
the left or right side of the bar and
hold it until you hear a beep. Once a station’s f requency is stored,
simply press and release the lef t or
right side of the proper preset bar to
tune to it.
Repeat steps 1 to 3 to store a total
of six stations on AM and twelve
on FM. The preset f requencies will be lost if
your car’s battery goes dead, is
disconnected, or the radio f use is
removed.

If you are
traveling far from home and can no
longer receive the stations you
preset, you can use the Auto Select
feature to find stations in the local
area.
Auto Select does not erase the
f requencies that you set previously.
When you return home, turn of f
Auto Select by pressing the A. SEL
button. The preset bars will then
select the f requencies you originally
set.
To activate Auto Select, press the
A. SEL button. A. SEL will f lash in
the display, and the system will go
into scan mode f or several seconds.
It automatically scans both bands,
looking f or stations with strong
signals. It stores the f requencies of
six AM stations and twelve FM
stations in the preset bars (1 6).
You can then use the preset bars to
select those stations.
If you are in a remote area, Auto
Select may not f ind six strong AM
stations or twelve strong FM stations.
If this happens, you will see a ‘‘0’’
displayed when you press the lef t or
right side of any preset bar that does
not have a station stored.
If you do not like the stations Auto
Select has stored, you can store
other f requencies in the preset bars.
