v o i r i s l o w :
1. Drive carefully to the nearest safelocation and stop your vehicle.
2. With the engine stopped, check the brake fluid level immediately
and add fluid as required (For
more details, refer to “Brake Fluid”
in chapter 7). After adding brake
fluid, check all brake components
for fluid leaks. If a brake fluid leak
is found, or if the warning light
remains on, or if the brakes do not
operate properly, do not drive the
vehicle. We recommend you to
have the vehicle inspected by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
D u a l d i a g o n a l b r a k i n g s y s t e m
Your vehicle is equipped with dual
diagonal braking systems. This
means you still have braking on two
wheels even if one of the dual sys
tems should fail.
With only one of the dual systems
working, more than normal pedal
travel and greater pedal pressure is
required to stop the vehicle.
Also, the vehicle will not stop in as
short a distance with only a portion
of the brake system working.
If the brakes fail while you are driv
ing, shift to a lower gear for addition
al engine braking and stop the vehi
cle as soon as it is safe to do so.

or close to a sensor, the displayed
indicator may differ from the above
illustration.
•Do not wash the vehicle's sensor
with high pressure water.
•When you shift into the R
(Reverse) position and one or
more of the below situation occurs,
this may indicate a malfunction
with the parking assist system.
•You don't hear an audible warning
sound or the buzzer sounds inter
mittently.
If this occurs, we recommend that
the system be checked by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Nonoperational conditions of rear
parking assist system
The rear parking assist system may
not operate normally when:
• Moisture is frozen to the sensor.
• The sensor is covered with dirt or debris such as snow or ice, or the
sensor cover is blocked.
There is a possibility of a parking
assist system malfunction when:
• Driving on uneven road surfaces such as unpaved roads, gravel,
bumps, or gradient.
• Objects generating excessive noise such as vehicle horns, loud motor
cycle engines, or truck air brakes
can interfere with the sensor.
• Heavy rain or water spray is present.
• Wireless transmitters or mobile phones are present near the sensor.

Driving your vehicle
Carbon monoxide (CO) gas is toxic. Breathing CO can cause unconsciousness and death.
Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide which canno t be seen or smelled.
Do not inhale engine exhaust.
If at any time you smell engine exhaust inside the vehicle, open the windows immediately. Exposure to CO can cause
unconsciousness and death by asphyxiation.
Be sure the exhaust system does not leak.
The exhaust system should be checked whenever the v ehicle is raised to change the oil or for any other purpose. If
you hear a change in the sound of the exhaust or if you drive over something that strikes the undernea th side of the
vehicle, we recommend that the exhaust system be ch ecked as soon as possible by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Do not run the engine in an enclosed area.
Letting the engine idle in your garage, even with t he garage door open, is a hazardous practice. Run t he engine only
long enough to start the engine and to move the veh icle out of the garage.
Avoid idling the engine for prolonged periods with people inside the vehicle.
If it is necessary to idle the engine for a prolong ed period with people inside the vehicle , be sure to do so only in an
open area with the air intake set at "Fresh" and fa n control set to high so fresh air is drawn into the interior.
Keep the air intakes clear.
To assure proper operation of the ventilation syste m, keep the ventilation air intakes located in front of the windshield
clear of snow, ice, leaves, or other obstructions.
If you must drive with the tailgate open:
Close all windows.
Open instrument panel air vents.
Set the air intake control at "Fresh", the air flow control at "Floor" or "Face", and the fan control set to high.
