Cannot edit settings while driving
This warning message appears if
you try to adjust the User Settings
while driving.
For safety, change the User Settings
after parking the vehicle and engaging
the parking brake (manual transaxle)
or moving the shift lever to P (Park)
position (automatic transaxle).
Trip computer mode
The trip computer mode displays
information related to vehicle driving
parameters including distance to
empty, fuel economy, trip meter infor
mation and vehicle speed.
For more details, refer to “Trip
Computer” in this chapter.
Information mode
S e r v i c e I n t e r v a l
Service in
It calculates and displays when you
need a scheduled maintenance
service (mileage or days).
If the remaining mileage or time
reaches 1,500 km (900 miles) or 30
days, "Service in" message is dis
played for several seconds each time
you set the ignition switch to the ONposition.
For the setting of the service interval,
refer to "User Settings Mode" of the
LCD display.

If you select this function, the current shift gear position is displayed in the cluster for about 2

Maintenance
Reset items
Items should be reset after the bat
tery has been discharged or the bat
tery has been disconnected.
• Auto up/down window (See chapter 3)
• Climate control system (See chapter 3)
• Audio (See chapter 3)
• Clock (See chapter3)
• Trip computer (See chapter 3)
When recharging the battery,
observe the following precautions:
•Before performing maintenance or
recharging the battery, turn off all
accessories and stop the engine.
•Do not allow cigarettes, sparks, or
flame near the battery.
•Wear eye protection when
checking the battery during
charging.
•The battery must be removed
from the vehicle and placed in
an area with good ventilation.
•Watch the battery during charg
ing, and stop or reduce the
charging rate if the battery cells
begin gassing (boiling) violently
or if the temperature of the elec
trolyte of any cell exceeds 49°C
(120°F).
