SB210S1-E BRAKE PAD WEAR INDICATOR The front brake disc pads are fitted with an audible wear indicator which willcause a high pitched noise to be emit- ted when the remaining amount of fric- tion lining is below the specified value.When the wear indicator is heard, the brake pads should be replaced without delay to avoid damage occurring to thebrake discs and a severe reduction in braking efficiency.
B900A01A-EAT ACOUSTIC WARNING SOUND (Not all models) The acoustic warning chime sounds when the tail lights are on and the door in driver side is open. This prevents thebattery from discharging when the car is left with the tail lights on. The chime sounds until the tail lights are turned off. HTB006A
The fuel gauge indicates the quantity of fuel remaining in the fuel tank. NOTE: The fuel gauge is not intended to give other than an approximate indi- cation of the fuel level and is unsuit- able for the purposes of calculatingfuel consumption figures.

FUEL FILTER WARNING LIGHT-RED(Diesel Engine)
This light illuminates when the engine has started and go off after a few seconds. If it lights up while the engineis running, it indicates that water has accumulated inside the fuel filter. If this happens, remove the water from thefuel filter. (Refer to "6-26 page")

The pollen filter is located in front of the evaporator unit behind the glove box. It operates to decrease the amount ofpollutants entering the car. To replace the pollen filter, refer to the page 6-20.

o If the interior of the car is hot when
you first get in, open the windows for a few minutes to expel the hot air.
o When you are using the air condi-
tioning system, keep all windowsclosed to keep hot air out.
o When moving slowly, as in heavy
traffic, shift to a lower gear. Thisincreases engine speed, which in turn increases the speed of the air conditioning compressor.
o On steep grades, turn the air condi- tioning off to avoid the possibility ofthe engine over-heating.
o During winter months or in periods when the air conditioning is not usedregularly, run the air conditioningonce every month for a few min- utes. This will help circulate the lubricants and keep your system inpeak operating condition. Inside of a vehicle

o Replace the filter every 10,000 miles (15,000 km) or once a year. If the car is being driven in severe conditions such as dusty, roughroads, more frequent pollen filter inspections and changes are re- quired.

o Engine oil and filter
The engine oil and filter should be changed at the intervals specified inthe maintenance schedule. If the car is being driven in severe conditions, more frequent oil and filter changesare required. 6ZF060B1-A
o Drive belts
Inspect all drive belts for evidence of cuts, cracks, excessive wear or oilsaturation and replace if necessary. Drive belts should be checked peri- odically for proper tension and ad-justed as necessary. 6ZF060C1-A
o Fuel filter
A clogged filter can limit the speed at
which the vehicle may be driven, dam- age the emission system and cause hard starting. If an excessive amountof foreign matter accumulates in the fuel tank, the filter may require re- placement more frequently.
After installing a new filter, run the
engine for several minutes, and checkfor leaks at the connections.

connections for leakage and damage. Replace any damaged or leaking parts immediately.

Never work on injection system with engine running or within 30 seconds after shutting off engine.High pressure pump, rail, injectors and high pressure pipes are sub- jected to high pressure even afterthe engine has been switched off. The fuel jet produced by fuel leaks may cause serious injury, if it con-tacts with the body. People using pacemakers should not move closer than 30cm to the ECU orwiring harness within the engine room with the engine running, since the high currents in the CommonRail system produce considerable magnetic fields.
