conditions are satisfied.

ditions are not satisfied.
‡[Yellow] When there is a malfunc-
tion with the lane keeping assist
system.
In this case, we recommend that
you have your vehicle inspected by
a HYUNDAI authorised repairer.
For more details, refer to “Lane
Keeping Assist (LKA)” in chapter
6.
LCD display messages
Key not in vehicle
(for smart key system)
This warning message is displayed if
the smart key is not in the vehicle
when you open or close door in the
ACC position or ON position. The
warning sound is heard when you
close door without a smart key in
vehicle.
When attempting to start the vehicle
always have the smart key with you.
Key not detected
(for smart key system)
This warning message is displayed if
the smart key is not detected when
you press the Engine Start/Stop but-
ton.
Press START button with key
(for smart key system)
This warning message is displayed if
you press the Engine Start/Stop but-
ton whilst the warning message “Key
not detected” is displayed.
At this time, the immobiliser indicator
light blinks.
Low Key Battery
(for smart key system)
This warning message is displayed if
the battery of the smart key is dis-
charged whilst changing the Engine
Start/Stop button to the OFF position.

were unable to start the vehicle when
the Engine Start/Stop button was
pressed.
If this occurs, attempt to start the
engine by pressing the Engine Start/
Stop button again.
If the warning message appears each
time you press the Engine Start/Stop
button, we recommend that you have
your vehicle inspected by a HYUNDAI
authorised repairer.
Shift to N to start engine
(for smart key system and
Automated Manual

This warning message is displayed if
you try to start the engine with the
shift button not in the N (Neutral)
position.

Check BRAKE SWITCH fuse (for

the brake switch fuse is disconnect-
ed.
You need to replace the fuse with a
new one. If that is not possible, you
can start the engine by pressing the
Engine Start/Stop button for 10 sec-

lated by the total driving distance
and fuel consumption since the last
average fuel economy reset.
‡The average fuel economy can be
reset both manually and automati-

To clear the average fuel economy
manually, press the [OK] button on
the steering wheel for more than 1
second when the average fuel econo-
my is displayed.
Automatic reset
To automatically reset the average
fuel economy after refueling, select
the "Fuel Econ. Reset" mode in the
User Settings menu on the LCD dis-
play.
- After vehicle On: The average fuel
economy will reset automatically
whenever it has passed 4 hours
after turning OFF the engine.
- After refueling: The average fuel
economy will reset automatically
when driving speed exceeds 1
km/h, after adding 1.6 gallons (6
liters) of fuel or more.
i Information
7he average fuel economy may be
inaccurate, when the vehicle drives
shorter than .1 miles (3 metres)
after turning 21 the (ngine Start/
Stop button.
Instant Fuel Economy (2)
‡This mode displays the instant fuel
economy during the last few sec-
onds when the vehicle speed is

This display shows the accumulated
trip distance (1), the average fuel
economy (2), and the total driving
time (3).
The information is accumulated start-
ing from the last reset.
To manually reset the information,
press and hold the OK button when
viewing the Accumulated driving info.
The trip distance, the average fuel
economy, and total driving time will
reset simultaneously.
The accumulated driving information
will continue to be counted whilst the
engine is still running (for example,
when the vehicle is in traffic or
stopped at a stop light).
i Information
7he vehicle must be driven for a mini-
mum of .1 miles (3 metres) since
the last ignition key cycle before the
average fuel economy will be recalcu-
lated.
Drive Info display

This display shows the trip distance
(1), the average fuel economy (2),
and the total driving time (3).
The information is combined for each
ignition cycle. However, when the
engine has been OFF for 4 hours or
longer the Drive Info screen will reset.
To manually reset the information,
press and hold the OK button when
viewing the Drive Info. The trip dis-
tance, the average fuel economy,
and total driving time will reset simul-
taneously.
The driving information will continue
to be counted whilst the engine is still
running (for example, when the vehi-
cle is in traffic or stopped at a stop

Using ABS
To obtain the maximum benefit from

do not attempt to modulate your
brake pressure and do not try to
pump your brakes. Depress your
brake pedal as hard as possible.
When you apply your brakes under
conditions which may lock the wheels,
you may hear sounds from the
brakes, or feel a corresponding sen-
sation in the brake pedal. This is nor-

distance than for vehicles equipped
with a conventional brake system.

the light stays on, you may have a

WARNING
If the ABS warning light () is on
and stays on, you may have a
problem with the ABS. Your power
brakes will work normally. To
reduce the risk of serious injury or
death, we recommend that you
contact a HYUNDAI authorised
repairer as soon as possible.
NOTICE
When you drive on a road having
poor traction, such as an icy road,
and apply your brakes continuous-
ly, the ABS will be active continu-
ously and the ABS warning light
(
) may illuminate. Pull your
vehicle over to a safe place and
turn the engine off.
Restart the engine. If the ABS
warning light is off, then your ABS
system is normal.
Otherwise, you may have a prob-
lem with your ABS system. We rec-
ommend that you contact a
HYUNDAI authorised repairer as
soon as possible.
i Information
When you jump start your vehicle
because of a drained battery, the ABS
warning light (
) may turn on at the
same time. 7his happens because of the
low battery voltage. It does not mean
your ABS is malfunctioning. +ave the
battery recharged before driving the
vehicle.

The ISG system is to reduce the fuel
consumption by automatically shut-
ting down the engine, when the vehi-
cle is at a standstill (i.e. red stop light,
VWRSVLJQDQGWUDIILFMDP 
The engine is automatically started
upon satisfying the starting condi-
tions.
The ISG system is always active,
when the engine is running.
i Information
When the engine is automatically
started by the IS* system, some warn-
ing lights (i.e. ABS, ESC, ESC 2FF,
EPS, and parking brake warning light)
may illuminate for a few seconds due
to the low battery voltage. +owever, it
does not indicate a malfunction with
the IS* system.

The hazard warning flasher serves as
a warning to other drivers to exercise
extreme caution when approaching,
overtaking, or passing your vehicle.
It should be used whenever emer-
gency repairs are being made or
when the vehicle is stopped near the
edge of a roadway.
To turn the hazard warning flasher on
or off, press the hazard warning flash-
er button with the ignition switch in
any position. The button is located in
the centre fascia panel. All turn signal
lights will flash simultaneously.
‡The hazard warning flasher oper-
ates whether your vehicle is run-
ning or not.
‡The turn signals do not work when
the hazard flasher is on
HAZARD WARNING FLASHER IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY

‡Reduce your speed gradually,
keeping a straight line. Move cau-
tiously off the road to a safe place.

‡Try to start the engine again. If your
vehicle will not start, we recom-
mend that you contact a HYUNDAI
authorised repairer.

If the engine stalls at a crossroads or
crossing, if safe to do so, move the
shift lever to the N (Neutral) position
and then push the vehicle to a safe
location.
