Seat belt warning light
Driver’s seat belt
„ Instrument cluster
1GQA2083
Regardless of the driver’s seat belt
fastening, the warning light will illumi-
nate for approximately 6 seconds
each time you turn the ignition switch
ON. If the driver’s seat belt is not fas-
tened, the warning chime will sound
for about 6 seconds and the waning
light will stay turned ON until the driv-
er’s seat belt is fastened.
If you start to drive without the driv-
er’s seat belt fastened, when you
drive under 12 mph (20 km/h) or stop,
the warning light will illuminate.
When you drive 12 mph (20 km/h) or
faster, the warning light will blink and
warning chime will sound for approxi-
mately 100 seconds.
When the driver’s seat belt is unfas-
tened during driving, the warning light
will illuminate when the speed is
under 12 mph (20 km/h). When the
speed is 12 mph (20 km/h) and fast-
er, the warning light will blink and
warning chime will sound for approxi-
mately 100 seconds.
Front passenger’s seat belt
(if equipped)
Regardless of the passenger’s seat belt
fastening, the warning light will illuminate
for approximately 6 seconds each time
you turn the ignition switch ON. If the
passenger’s seat belt is not fastened,
the waning light will stay turned ON until
the passenger’s seat belt is fastened.
If you start to drive without the pas-
senger’s seat belt fastened, when
you drive under 12 mph (20 km/h) or
stop, the warning light will illuminate.
When you drive 12 mph (20 km/h) or
faster, the warning light will blink and
warning chime will sound for approxi-
mately 100 seconds.
When the passenger’s seat belt is
unfastened during driving, the warn-
ing light will illuminate when the
speed is under 12 mph (20 km/h).
When the speed is 12 mph (20 km/h)
and faster, the warning light will blink
and warning chime will sound for
approximately 100 seconds.
WARNING
Riding in an improper position
adversely affects the front passen-
ger’s seat belt warning system. It
is important for the driver to
instruct the passenger to properly
be seated as instructed in this
manual.

To reactivate the passenger’s front
air bag:
Insert the key or a similar rigid device
into the passenger’s front air bag ON/
OFF switch and turn it to the ON posi-
tion. The passenger air bag ON indi-
cator (
) will illuminate and stay on
for 60 seconds.
WARNING
Never allow an adult passenger to
ride in the front passenger seat
when the passenger air bag OFF
indicator is illuminated. During a
collision, the air bag will not inflate
if the indicator is illuminated. Turn
on the passenger’s front air bag or
have your passenger move to the
rear seat.
WARNING
If the passenger’s front air bag ON/
OFF switch malfunctions, the fol-
lowing conditions may occur:
‡The air bag warning light (
) on
the instrument cluster will illumi-
nate.
‡The passenger air bag OFF indi-
cator (
) will not illuminate and
the ON indicator (
) will come on
and go off after approximately 60
seconds. The passenger’s front
air bag will inflate in a frontal
impact even though the passen-
ger’s front air bag ON/OFF switch
is set to the OFF position.
‡We recommend that a HYUNDAI
authorised repairer inspect the
passenger’s front air bag ON/
OFF switch and the SRS air bag
system as soon as possible.

After complete inflation, the air bag
immediately starts deflating, enabling
the driver to maintain forward visibility
and the ability to steer or operate
other controls.
WARNING
To prevent objects from becoming
dangerous projectiles when the
passenger’s air bag inflates:
‡Do not install or place any
objects (drink holder, CD holder,
stickers, etc.) on the front pas-
senger’s panel above the glove
box where the passenger’s air
bag is located.
‡Do not install a container of liq-
uid air freshener near the instru-
ment cluster or on the instru-
ment panel surface.
What to expect after an air bag
inflates
After a frontal or side air bag inflates,
it will deflate very quickly. Air bag
inflation will not prevent the driver
from seeing out of the windscreen or
being able to steer. Curtain air bags
may remain partially inflated for some
time after they deploy.
WARNING
After an air bag inflates, take the
following precautions:
‡Open your windows and doors
as soon as possible after impact
to reduce prolonged exposure to
the smoke and powder released
by the inflating air bag.
‡Do not touch the air bag storage
area’s internal components
immediately after an air bag has
inflated. The parts that come into
contact with an inflating air bag
may be very hot.
‡Always wash exposed skin areas
thoroughly with cold water and
mild soap.
‡We recommend that a HYUNDAI
authorised repairer replace the
air bag immediately after deploy-
ment. Air bags are designed to
be used only once.

Instrument cluster control
WARNING
Never adjust the instrument clus-
ter whilst driving. This could result
in loss of control and lead to an
accident that may cause death,
serious injury, or vehicle damage.
Gauges and meters
Speedometer
OAC3049003TU
„ MPH, km/h
The speedometer indicates the speed
of the vehicle and is calibrated in
miles per hour (MPH).
Tachometer
OAC3049004TU
The tachometer indicates the approx-
imate number of engine revolutions
per minute (rpm).
Use the tachometer to select the cor-
rect shift points and to prevent lug-
ging and/or over-revving the engine.
NOTICE
Do not operate the engine within
the tachometer’s RED ZONE. This
may cause severe engine damage.

Engine Coolant Temperature
Gauge
OJS048104L
This gauge indicates the temperature
of the engine coolant when the igni-
tion switch is in the ON position.
NOTICE
If the gauge pointer moves beyond
the normal range area toward the
“130” position, it indicates over-
heating that may damage the
engine.
Do not continue driving with an
overheated engine. If your vehicle
overheats, refer to “If the Engine
Overheats” in chapter 7.
WARNING
Never remove the radiator cap or
reservoir cap when the engine is
hot. The engine coolant is under
pressure and could cause severe
burns. Wait until the engine is cool
before adding coolant to the reser-
voir.
Fuel Gauge
OAC3049005R
This gauge indicates the approximate
amount of fuel remaining in the fuel
tank.
i Information
‡ 7he fuel tank capacity is given in
chapter 2.
‡ 7he fuel gauge is supplemented by a
low fuel warning light, which will
illuminate when the fuel tank is
nearly empty.
‡ 2n inclines or curves, the fuel gauge
pointer may fluctuate or the low fuel
warning light may come on earlier
than usual due to the movement of
fuel in the tank.

WARNING
Running out of fuel can expose
vehicle occupants to danger.
You must stop and obtain addi-
tional fuel as soon as possible
after the warning light comes on or
when the gauge indicator comes
close to the “0” level.
NOTICE
Avoid driving with an extremely
low fuel level. Running out of fuel
could cause the engine to misfire
damaging the catalytic converter.
Outside Temperature Gauge
This gauge indicates the current out-
side air temperatures either in Celsius
(°C) or Fahrenheit.
- Temperature range :
-40°C ~ 60°C (-40°F ~ 140°F)
The outside temperature on the display
may not immediately change like a
general thermometer not to distract the
driver.
The temperature unit (from °C to °F or
from °F to °C) can be changed by:
OTM048112
- User Settings mode in the Cluster :
You can change the temperature
unit in the “User Settings Other
Features Temperature unit” .
- Automatic climate control system :
Whilst pressing the OFF button,
press the AUTO button for 3 sec-
onds or more.
The temperature unit of the instru-
ment cluster and climate control sys-
tem will change at once.
