Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC)*†6
Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC)* can automatically adjust the
vehicle speed when it detects a curved road ahead and when it receives road
information from the navigation system
To turn on the NSCC system, go to Vehicle Settings in the audio head unit, by
selecting Driving Assistance, Driving Assist then Highway Auto Curve Slowdown
When the SCC is on and operating, and NSCC is turned on, then NSCC is enabled
and the AUTO icon* A will illuminate white on the Instrument Cluster
When the NSCC detects a curve ahead, activates and reduces the vehicle speed,
the AUTO icon A will turn green When the vehicle passes the curved road, the
vehicle may return to its previously set SCC speed
REMINDERS:
•NSCC operates only when SCC is turned on and operating
•When the ignition is cycled, the system returns to its previous on or off state
•NSCC requires an active navigation subscription
•NSCC is only available on controlled access roads and highways
For further system operation, refer to the Owner's Manual. For more setting information, refer to the Car Infotainment System Quick Reference Guide.
The NSCC system is a supplemental system and is not a substitute for safe driving. It is the responsibility of the driver to always check the speed and distance to the vehicle ahead.

Auto-Hold*
Auto-Hold temporarily maintains the vehicle at
a standstill even if the brake pedal is released
Auto-Hold can be turned ON/OFF using the
AUTO HOLD button B on the center console
Before Auto-Hold will operate, the driver’s door,
engine hood and trunk must be closed, and the
driver’s seat belt must be fastened
The Auto Hold indicator on the Instrument
Cluster has four states:
White: Standby - With vehicle at a standstill,
and AUTO HOLD switch B turned ON, the
indicator will illuminate white While driving the
vehicle (vehicle is not at a standstill), the Auto-
Hold indicator will remain white
Green: Engaged - When coming to a complete
stop by depressing the brake pedal, the Auto-
Hold indicator changes from white to green
OFF (not illuminated) - The indicator will turn OFF when the AUTO HOLD
switch B is manually turned OFF or when the EPB is manually turned ON
Yellow: Malfunction - When the indicator is illuminated yellow, there may be a
system malfunction Take your vehicle to a local Kia dealer
REMINDERS:

To reduce the risk of an accident, do not activate Auto Hold while driving downhill, backing up or parking your vehicle
•Auto Hold turns off when ignition is cycled

Do not solely rely on the Auto Hold system to keep the vehicle stopped Always pay attention to traf fic and road conditions, and be prepared to depress the brakes

•When leaving your keys with parking lot attendants or valet, make sure to inform them how to operate the EPB
•If parked on a steep incline, pull up the EPB switch for more than 3 seconds for a firmer EPB application
•Pull up and hold EPB switch again to increase brake pressure if parked on a decline or incline

an electric motor to engage the parking brake
Applying the Parking Brake
Depress the brake pedal and pull up the EPB

shifter is placed in Reverse or Drive

REMINDERS:

As a bulb check, the EPB malfunction indicator will illuminate for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned ON

If the warning light does not illuminate temporarily, or continues to remain lit, take your vehicle to an authorized Kia dealer and have the system checked

The EPB should not be operated while the vehicle is moving, unless there is an emergency situation

A click or electric brake motor sound may be heard while operating or releasing the EPB, but these conditions are normal and indicate that the EPB is functioning properly

Climate Control Auto Function
1 Press AUTO to select Full Auto Operation: The Auto setting automatically
controls the airflow modes, fan speeds, air intake and air conditioning
according to the temperature setting selected
2 Set desired Temperature
3 Press SYNC to select Sync Temperature Control Operation which
synchronizes the passenger’s temperature to the driver’s setting
Air Flow Modes: To select Air Flow Modes, press the MODE button to
cycle through to desired mode:
Defrost Outside Windshield:
1 Set Fan Speed to the highest position
2 Set Temperature to Hot
3 Press the Front Defrost button
Defog Inside Windshield:
1 Set Fan Speed to highest position
2 Set Temperature to highest position
3 Press the Front Defrost button

Auto Defogging System (ADS):
Auto defogging is designed to reduce the
fogging up of the inside of the windshield
by automatically sensing the moisture of
the inside of the windshield The system
will automatically change to defrost mode when needed
Auto Defogging is set ON by default To cancel Auto Defogging, press
the Front Defrost button FRONT for three seconds, when the ignition is
in on (ADS OFF icon will illuminate) To turn Auto Defogging on again,
press the Front Defrost button FRONT for three seconds

Heated Steering Wheel*
Press Heated Steering Wheel button A to turn
ON/OFF Steering Wheel Heater, while the Engine
Start /Stop button is in the ON position Steering
Wheel Heater will turn off automatically in 30
minutes, or when button is pressed again to
deactivate
Auto Comfort Control* (for driver’s seat)
The Heated Steering Wheel system automatically
adjusts the steering wheel temperature depending
on the ambient temperature, when the ignition
is on The Auto Comfort Control is activated or
deactivated when you select or deselect it in
the Vehicle Settings on the audio head unit Go

Map/Room Lamps
Automatic turn off function
The interior lights automatically turn off approximately 30 seconds after the Engine
Start /Stop button is OFF
Map/Room Lamp Operation
Press the buttons A to turn the Map Lamps ON/OFF This light produces a spot
beam for convenient use as a map lamp or as a personal lamp for the driver or the
front passenger
Room Lamp* – Press the button B to turn the Room Lamp ON/OFF
The Map and Room Lamps turn ON when button C is pressed any door is opened
or the ignition is turned OFF When all doors are locked or the ignition is ON, the Map
Lamp will turn OFF immediately The Map and Room Lamps turn ON for approximately
30 seconds

•When doors are unlocked by the Smart Key, the lamp turns ON for approximately 30 seconds •If your vehicle is equipped with the theft alarm system, the interior lights automatically turn off approximately 3 seconds after the system is in armed stage •Using interior lights for an extended period of time may cause battery discharge

Panoramic Sunroof Operation with Power Sunshade
The Sunroof and Sunshade operation is controlled through a multi-directional
switch/lever A The ignition needs to be in the ON position to operate the
sunroof/sunshade
Slide the Sunshade and Sunroof:
• Auto Open: Slide lever backward to the farthest position and release
• Auto Close: Slide the lever forward to the farthest position and release
Slide the Sunshade:
• Auto Open: Slide the lever partially backward to the first detent position
• Auto Close: Slide the lever forward to the farthest position
Slide the Sunroof (with Sunshade open):
• Open: Slide the lever backward to the farthest position and release
• Auto Close: Slide the lever forward to the first detent position or pull
the lever downward
Tilt the Sunroof:
• Raise: Push lever upward
• Lower: Push lever forward
• Auto Close Sunroof and Sunshade: Slide the lever forward to the
farthest position
REMINDERS:
•Sunshade needs to remain OPEN while sunroof is open
•Sunshade cannot slide when it is in the tilt position or tilt while in an open or slide position

Do not adjust the sunroof or sunshade while driving This could result in loss of control of the vehicle
To stop the Sunroof/Sunshade at any position, push or pull the Sunroof control lever in any direction

Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA)*†6
Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA) is designed to detect certain
objects/pedestrians behind the vehicle and issues an audible warning and/or
apply emergency braking to reduce the possibility of a collision when the vehicle
is in reverse
Reverse PCA can be turned on in the Vehicle Settings* in the audio head unit
by selecting Driver Assistance, Parking Safety then one of the following:
Active Assist, Warning Only, Off
When a potential collision is detected, the system applies emergency braking for
about two seconds A warning message on the Instrument Cluster will display A
reminding the driver to press the brake immediately
REMINDERS:

The Reverse PCA system is operational when Active Assist is selected in the Vehicle Settings
•The Reverse PCA system will only operate when the:
– Vehicle speed is below 6 mph
– The trunk is closed
– The gear shift is in R (Reverse)
– Other system such as Rear View Monitor are operating under normal conditions

The Parking Distance Warning-Reverse is not a substitute for proper and safe backing-up procedures. Always drive safely and use caution when backing up. The Parking Distance Warning-Reverse may not detect every object behind the vehicle

The Parking Distance Warning-Reverse is a supplemental system
that is designed to assist the driver by chiming if any object is
detected within the sensing area to the rear and side of the vehicle
when backing up When the ignition is ON, the system is activated
REMINDERS:
•If the vehicle is moving at speeds over 3 mph, the system may not activate correctly

When more than two objects are sensed at the same time, the closest one will be recognized first

Driver Attention Warning (DAW)*†7
The DAW system is designed to detect inattentive driving practices, in
certain situations, can give a warning signal to take a break from driving
The DAW system is set to ON by default To turn the DAW system OFF, turn
the ignition on and go to Vehicle Settings in the audio head unit Select
Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Driver Attention Warning > Inattentive Driving
Warning The Warning Time* can be set
Normal (Default): The Driver Attention Warning system alerts the driver of
his/her inattentive driving practices
Late: The Driver Attention Warning system alerts the driver of his/her
inattentive driving practices later than Normal mode
If the DAW System is activated, the DAW information will appear on the LCD
Display A when you select the ASSIST mode
A message, “Consider taking a break,” appears on the LCD display and
a warning sounds to suggest the driver to take a break when the driver’s
attention level is below one bar B
REMINDERS:
•The set-up of the DAW System will be maintained, as selected, when the ignition is cycled

When activated, the DAW System does not display “Consider taking a break” message when the total trip driving time is less than 10 minutes

The DAW System will enter a standby mode if the camera does not detect the lanes and/or the driving speed remains under 40 mph
