3) If the light switch is pulled
towards you when the high
beam is on by the High Beam
Assist, the low beam will be on
and the High Beam Assist will
turn off.
4) If the light switch is turned to the headlamp position ( ) from
AUTO position, the High Beam
Assist will turn off and the low
beam will be on continuously. When High Bean Assist (HBA) sys-
tem is operating, the high beam
switches to low beam in the below
conditions.
- When a headlamp is detected from
a on-coming vehicle.
- When a tail lamp is detected from a front vehicle.
- When headlamp/tail lamp of bicy- cle/motorcycle is detected.
- When a headlamp/tail lamp from a bicycle/motorcycle is detected.
- When streetlights or other lights are detected.
- When the light switch is not in the AUTO position.
- When the High Beam Assist is off.
- When vehicle speed is below 22 mph (35 km/h).Warning light and message
When the High Beam Assist is not
working properly, a warning mes-
sage will come on for a few seconds.
After the message disappears, the
master warning light ( ) will illumi-
nate.
"In this situation, have the system
checked by an authorized K900 Kia
dealer.

The driver must be cautious inthe below situations as the sys-tem may not operate in the fol-lowing conditions
  When the light from an on-
coming or front vehicle ispoor
When the light from an on- coming or front vehicle is notdetected because of lampdamage, or because it is hid-den from sight, etc.
When the lamp from an on- coming or front vehicle is cov-ered with dust, snow or water.
When a front vehicle’s head- lamps are off but the foglamps are on and etc.
  When external conditions
intervene
When there is a a lamp that has a similar shape as a vehi-cle’s lamps.

When headlamp aiming is not properly adjusted.
When driving on a narrow curved road, rough road,downhill or uphill.
When only part of the vehicle in front is visible on a cross-road or curved road.
When there is a traffic light, reflecting sign, flashing signor mirror ahead.
When there is a temporary reflector or flash ahead (con-struction area).
When the road conditions are poor, such as when wet, icy, orcovered with snow.
When a vehicle suddenly appears from a curve.
When the vehicle is tilted from a flat tire or being towed.

  When front visibility is poor
When the lamp of an on-com- ing or front vehicle is coveredwith dust, snow or water.

When it is hard to see because of fog, heavy rain or snow andetc.

Turn signals and lane change
signals
The ignition switch must be on for the
turn signals to function. To turn on
the turn signals, move the lever up or
down (A). The green arrow indicators
on the instrument panel indicate
which turn signal is operating.
They will self-cancel after a turn is
completed. If the indicator continues
to flash after a turn, manually return
the lever to the OFF position.
To signal a lane change, move the
turn signal lever slightly and hold it in
position (B). The lever will return to
the OFF position when released.

Do not disassemble the front view camera for window tint-ing or installing any forms ofcoatings or accessories. Ifyou disassemble andreassemble the camera, takeyour vehicle to an authorizedK900 Kia dealer and have thesystem checked to see if a cal-ibration is needed.
When you replace or reinstall the windshield glass, or frontview camera, take your vehicleto an authorized K900 Kiadealer and have the systemchecked.
Be careful that water doesn’t get into the High Beam Assistunit and do not remove ordamage related parts of theHigh Beam Assist system.
Do not place objects on the crash pad that reflect light suchas mirrors, white paper, etc. Thesystem may not be able to func-tion if sunlight is reflected.

If an indicator stays on and does not
flash or if it flashes abnormally, one of
the turn signal bulbs may be burned
out and will require replacement.
✽ ✽NOTICE
If an indicator flash is abnormally
quick or slow, a bulb may be burned
out or have a poor electrical connec-
tion in the circuit.
One-touch lane change function
To activate an one-touch lane
change function, move the turn sig-
nal lever slightly and then release it.
The lane change signals will blink 3,
5 or 7 times.
You can choose one-touch lane
change blinking function in “One
touch turn lamp” of “User setting”.
Refer to “User setting” in chapter 4
✽ ✽NOTICE
If the turn signal indicator stays on
and does not flash, or if it flashes
abnormally, a bulb may be burned
out or have a poor electrical connec-
tion in the circuit. The bulb may
require replacement.
Headlight leveling device
(if equipped)
Automatic type
To ensure the proper headlight beam
is used under various conditions, the
headlight beam levels are automati-
cally adjusted depending on the
number of passengers, the weight in
the trunk, and other driving condi-
tions.
✽ ✽NOTICE
If headlamp leveling device does not
work properly even though your car
is inclined backward according to
passenger's posture, or the headlight
beam is irradiated to the high or low
position, have the system inspected
by an authorized K900 Kia dealer.
Do not attempt to inspect or replace
the wiring yourself.

Low Beam Assist (LBA) sys-
tem (if equipped)
Low Beam Assist (LBA) system uses
the steering angle and vehicle speed
to keep your field of vision wide by
swiveling and leveling the headlamp.
Change the switch to the AUTO posi-
tion when the engine is running. Low
Beam Assist (LBA) system will oper-
ate when the headlamp is ON. To
turn off LBA system change the
switch to other positions. After turn-
ing LBA system off, headlamp
swiveling no longer occurs, but level-
ing operates continuously. If LBA system malfunction indicator
comes on, LBA system is not work-
ing properly. Drive to the nearest safe
location and restart the engine. If the
indicator continuously remains on,
have your vehicle checked by an
authorized K900 Kia dealer as soon
as possible.

Windshield wipers
Operates as follows when the igni-
tion switch is turned ON.
MIST : For a single wiping cycle,
move the lever to this (MIST)
position and release it. The
wipers will operate continu-
ously if the lever is held in this
position.
OFF : Wiper is not in operation
INT : Wiper operates intermittently at the same wiping intervals. Use
this mode in light rain or mist.
To vary the speed setting, turn
the speed control knob.
LO : Normal wiper speed
HI : Fast wiper speed
✽ ✽ NOTICE
If there is heavy accumulation of
snow or ice on the windshield, defrost
the windshield for about 10 minutes,
or until the snow and/or ice is
removed, before using the windshield
wipers in order to ensure proper
operation. If you do not remove the
snow and/or ice before using the
wiper and washer, the wiper and
washer system may be damaged.

Auto control (if equipped)
The rain sensor (A) located on the
upper end of the windshield glass
senses the amount of rainfall and
controls the wiping cycle for the
proper interval. The more it rains, the
faster the wiper operates. When the
rain stops, the wiper stops.
To vary the speed setting, turn the
speed control knob (1).
If the wiper switch is set in AUTO
mode when the ignition switch is ON,
the wiper will operate once to per-
form a self-check of the system. Set
the wiper to OFF position when the
wiper is not in use.

CAUTION
When washing the vehicle, set
the wiper switch in the OFFposition to stop the auto wiperoperation.
The wiper may operate and bedamaged if the switch is set inthe AUTO mode while washingthe vehicle.
Do not remove the sensor cover located on the upperend of the passenger sidewindshield glass. Damage tosystem parts could occur andmay not be covered by yourvehicle warranty.
When starting the vehicle in winter, set the wiper switch inthe OFF position. Otherwise,wipers may operate and icemay damage the windshieldwiper blades. Always removeall snow and ice and defrostthe windshield properly priorto operating the windshieldwipers.
WARNING
When the ignition switch is ON
and the windshield wiper switch
is placed in the AUTO mode,
use caution in the following sit-
uations to avoid any injury to
the hands or other parts of the
body:
Do not touch the upper end of the windshield glass facing
the rain sensor.
Do not wipe the upper end of the windshield glass with a
damp or wet cloth.
Do not put pressure on the windshield glass.

Front windshield washers
In the OFF position, pull the lever
gently toward you to spray washer
fluid on the windshield and to run the
wipers 1-3 cycles.
Use this function when the wind-
shield is dirty.
The spray and wiper operation will
continue until you release the lever.
If the washer does not work, check
the washer fluid level. If the fluid level
is not sufficient, you will need to add
appropriate non-abrasive windshield
washer fluid to the washer reservoir.The reservoir filler neck is located in
the front of the engine compartment
on the passenger side.

CAUTION - Washer pump
To prevent possible damage to
the washer pump, do not oper-ate the washer when the fluidreservoir is empty.
WARNING - Obscured
visibility
Do not use the washer in freez-
ing temperatures without first
warming the windshield with
the defrosters; the washer solu-
tion could freeze on the wind-
shield and obscure your vision.
CAUTION -Wipers & windshields
To prevent possible damage to the wipers or windshield,do not operate the wiperswhen the windshield is dry.
To prevent damage to the wiper blades, do not use gasoline,kerosene, paint thinner, orother solvents on or near them.
To prevent damage to the wiper arms and other compo-nents, do not attempt to movethe wipers manually.

Do not use the interior lights for
extended periods when the engine is
not running as this may cause bat-
tery discharge.Automatic turn off function
(if equipped)
The interior lights automatically turn
off approximately 20 minutes after
the ignition switch is turned off, if the
lights are in the ON position.
If your vehicle is equipped with the
theft alarm system, the interior lights
automatically turn off approximately
5 seconds after the system is armed.
Map lamp

Press either of these buttons to
turn the map lamp on or off. This
light produces a spot beam for con-
venient use as a map lamp at night
or as a personal lamp for the driver
and the front passenger.
Press the button to turn ON all
front lamps. Press the button again
turn OFF all front lamps.
INTERIOR LIGHTS
WARNING - Interior
Lights
Do not use the interior lights
when driving in the dark.
Accidents could happen
because the driver's view may
be obscured by interior lights.

:
The front or rear room lamps come
on when the front or rear doors are
opened if the engine is running or
not. When doors are unlocked by
the Smart Key, the front and rear
lamps come on for approximately
30 seconds as long as any door is
not opened. The front and rear room
lamps go out gradually after approx-
imately 30 seconds if the door is
closed. However, if the Engine
Start/Stop button is in the ON posi-
tion or all doors are locked, the front
and rear lamps will turn off. If a door
is opened with the Engine Start/
Stop button in the ACC position or
the OFF position, the front and rear
lamps stay on for about 20 minutes.

Press this button to turn the front
and rear room lamps on and off.
✽ ✽ NOTICE
The DOOR mode and ROOM mode
can not be selected at a time.
Room lamp
:
Press the button to turn ON the
rear map lamp and the door handle
lamps. You cannot separately turn
OFF the door handle lamps. Re-
press the button to turn OFF the
rear map lamp and the door handle
lamps together.

:
Press this button to turn the rear
room lamps on and off.
