Auto stop indicator
(if equipped)
This indicator will illuminate when the engine enters the Idle Stop mode of theISG (Idle Stop and Go) system.
When the automatic starting occurs, the auto stop indicator on the cluster will
blink for 5 seconds.
For more details, refer to the ISG (Idle Stop and Go) system in chapter 5.
✽✽ NOTICE
When the engine automatically starts by
the ISG system, some warning lights
(ABS, ESC, ESC OFF, EPS or Parking
brake warning light) may turn on for a
few seconds.
This happens because of the low battery
voltage. It does not mean the system is
malfunctioning.
Low tyre pressure indicator / TPMS malfunction indica-tor (if equipped)
The low tyre pressure telltale comes on
for 3 seconds after the ignition switch is
turned to the "ON" position.
The low tyre pressure telltale illuminates
when one or more of your tyres is signif-
icantly underinflated.
The low tyre pressure telltale will illumi-
nate after it blinks for approximately one
minute when there is a problem with the
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
In this case, we recommend that you
have the vehicle inspected by an autho-
rised Kia dealer as soon as possible. If
the warning light illuminates whilst driv-
ing, reduce vehicle speed immediately
and stop the vehicle. Avoid hard braking
and overcorrecting at the steering wheel.Inflate the tyres to the proper pressure as
indicated on the vehicle’s tyre informationplacard.
WARNING - Low tyre pres-
sure
Significantly low tyre pressure
makes the vehicle unstable and can
contribute to loss of vehicle controland increased braking distances.
Continued driving on low pressure
tyres will cause the tyres to over-heat and fail.
WARNING - Safe stopping
The TPMS cannot alert you to severe and sudden tyre damage
caused by external factors.
If you feel any vehicle instability, immediately take your foot off the
accelerator, apply the brakes
gradually and with light force,
and slowly move to a safe posi-
tion off the road.

TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) (IF EQUIPPED)
Low tyre pressure telltale / TPMS malfunction indicator
Each tyre, including the spare (if pro-
vided), should be checked monthlywhen cold and inflated to the inflation
pressure recommended by the vehicle
manufacturer on the vehicle placard or
tyre inflation pressure label. (If your
vehicle has tyres of a different size
than the size indicated on the vehicleplacard or tyre inflation pressure label,
you should determine the proper tyre
inflation pressure for those tyres.) As an added safety feature, your
vehicle has been equipped with a
tyre pressure monitoring system
(TPMS) that illuminates a low tyrepressure telltale when one or more
of your tyres is significantly under-
inflated. Accordingly, when the low
tyre pressure telltale illuminates, you
should stop and check your tyres as
soon as possible, and inflate them to
the proper pressure. Driving on a sig-nificantly under-inflated tyre causes
the tyre to overheat and can lead to
tyre failure. Under-inflation alsoreduces fuel efficiency and tyre tread
life, and may affect the vehicle’s han-
dling and stopping ability.
Please note that the TPMS is not a
substitute for proper tyre mainte-
nance, and it is the driver’s responsi-bility to maintain correct tyre pres-
sure, even if under-inflation has not
reached the level to trigger illumina-
tion of the TPMS low tyre pressure
telltale.
Your vehicle has also been equipped
with a TPMS malfunction indicator toindicate when the system is not oper-
ating properly. The TPMS malfunction
indicator is combined with the low
tyre pressure telltale. When the sys-tem detects a malfunction, the telltale
will flash for approximately one
minute and then remain continuously
illuminated. This sequence will con-
tinue upon subsequent vehicle start-
ups as long as the malfunction exists. When the malfunction indicator is illu-
minated, the system may not be able
to detect or signal low tyre pressure
as intended. TPMS malfunctions may
occur for a variety of reasons, includ-ing the installation of replacement or
alternate tyres or wheels on the vehi-
cle that prevent the TPMS from func-
tioning properly. Always check theTPMS malfunction telltale afterreplacing one or more tyres or
wheels on your vehicle to ensure that
the replacement or alternate tyres
and wheels allow the TPMS to con-
tinue to function properly.

What to do in an emergency
✽✽NOTICE
If the TPMS indicator does not illu-
minate for 3 seconds when the igni-
tion switch is turned to the ON posi-
tion or engine is running, or if it
comes on after blinking for approxi-
mately one minute, we recommend
that you contact an authorized Kia
dealer.Low tyre pressure telltale
When the tyre pressure monitoring
system warning indicators are illumi-
nated, one or more of your tyres issignificantly under-inflated.
If the telltale illuminates, immediately
reduce your speed, avoid hard cor-
nering and anticipate increased stop-
ping distances. You should stop and
check your tyres as soon as possible.Inflate the tyres to the proper pres-
sure as indicated on the vehicle’splacard or tyre inflation pressure label
located on the driver’s side centre pil-
lar outer panel. If you cannot reach a
service station or if the tyre cannot
hold the newly added air, replace the
low pressure tyre with the spare tyre.
Then the Low Tyre Pressure telltale
may flash for approximately one
minute and then remain continuously
illuminated after restarting and about
20 minutes of continuous driving
before you have the low pressure tyre
repaired and replaced on the vehicle.CAUTION
In winter or cold weather, the low tyre pressure telltale may beilluminated if the tyre pressurewas adjusted to the recom- mended tyre inflation pressurein warm weather. It does notmean your TPMS is malfunction- ing because the decreased tem-perature leads to a proportionallowering of tyre pressure.
When you drive your vehiclefrom a warm area to a cold area or from a cold area to a warmarea, or the outside temperatureis greatly higher or lower, you should check the tyre inflationpressure and adjust the tyres tothe recommended tyre inflation pressure.

TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System)malfunction indicator
The TPMS malfunction indicator will
illuminate after it blinks for approxi-
mately one minute when there is a
problem with the Tyre Pressure
Monitoring System. If the system is
able to correctly detect an under infla-
tion warning at the same time as sys-
tem failure then it will illuminate the
TPMS malfunction indicator.
We recommend that the system be
checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
WARNING - Low pressure
damage
Significantly low tyre pressure
makes the vehicle unstable and
can contribute to loss of vehicle
control and increased brakingdistances.
Continued driving on low pres- sure tyres can cause the tyres
to overheat and fail.CAUTION
The TPMS malfunction indica- tor may be illuminated if thevehicle is moving around elec- tric power supply cables orradios transmitter such as atpolice stations, government and public offices, broadcast-ing stations, military installa-tions, airports, or transmitting towers, etc. This can interferewith normal operation of theTyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
The TPMS malfunction indica- tor may be illuminated if snowchains are used or some sep-arate electronic devices such as notebook computer, mobilecharger, remote starter ornavigation etc., are used in the vehicle. This can interfere withnormal operation of the TyrePressure Monitoring System(TPMS).

What to do in an emergency
Changing a tyre with TPMS
If you have a flat tyre, the Low Tyre
Pressure telltale will come on. Werecommend that the system be
checked by an authorised Kia dealer. Each wheel is equipped with a tyre pressure sensor mounted inside the
tyre behind the valve stem. You must
use TPMS specific wheels. It is rec-
ommended that you always have
your tyres serviced by an authorisedKia dealer or other repair shops that
use qualified technicians.Even if you replace the low pressure
tyre with the spare tyre, the Low TyrePressure telltale will remain on until
the low pressure tyre is repaired and
placed on the vehicle.
After you replace the low pressure
tyre with the spare tyre, the TPMS
malfunction indicator may illuminate
after a few minutes because theTPMS sensor mounted on the sparewheel is not initiated.
Once the low pressure tyre is rein- flated to the recommended pressure
and installed on the vehicle or theTPMS sensor mounted on the
replaced spare wheel is initiated by
an authorised Kia dealer or otherrepair shops that use qualified tech-
nicians, the TPMS malfunction indi-
cator and the low tyre pressure tell-
tale will extinguish within a few min-
utes of driving.
If the indicator is not extinguished
after a few minutes of driving, werecommend that the system be
checked by an authorised Kia dealer.CAUTION
If a original mounted tyre is
replaced with the spare tyre, theTPMS sensor on the replaced spare wheel should be initiatedand the TPMS sensor on theoriginal mounted wheel should be deactivated. If the TPMS sen-sor on the original mountedwheel located in the spare tyre carrier still activates, the tyrepressure monitoring systemmay not operate properly. Have the tyre with TPMS serviced orreplaced by an authorised Kiadealer or other repair shops that use qualified technicians.
CAUTION
Never use a puncture-repairingagent not approved by Kia torepair and/or inflate a low pres- sure tyre. The tyre sealant notapproved by Kia may damagethe tyre pressure sensor.
The sealant on the tyre pressuresensor and wheel shall be elem- inated when you replace thetyre with a new one.

You may not be able identify a low
tyre by simply looking at it. Alwaysuse a good quality tyre pressuregauge to measure the tyre's inflation
pressure. Please note that a tyre that
is hot (from being driven) will have ahigher pressure measurement than atyre that is cold.
A cold tyre means the vehicle has
been sitting for 3 hours and driven forless than 1 mile (1.6 km) in that 3
hour period.
Allow the tyre to cool before measur-
ing the inflation pressure. Always be
sure the tyre is cold before inflating
to the recommended pressure.
CAUTION
We recommend that you use the
tyre sealant approved by Kia ifyour vehicle is equipped with a Tyre Pressure MonitoringSystem. The liquid sealant candamage the tyre pressure sen- sors.
WARNING - Protecting
TPMS
Tampering with, modifying, or
disabling the Tyre PressureMonitoring System (TPMS) com-
ponents may interfere with thesystem's ability to warn the driv-
er of low tyre pressure condi-
tions and/or TPMS malfunctions.
Tampering with, modifying, or
disabling the Tyre PressureMonitoring System (TPMS) com-
ponents may void the warranty
for that portion of the vehicle.
WARNING - TPMS
The TPMS cannot alert you to severe and sudden tyre dam-
age caused by external factors
such as nails or road debris.
If you feel any vehicle instabil- ity, immediately take your foot
off the accelerator, apply the
brakes gradually and with
light force, and slowly move to
a safe position off the road.WARNING - For EUROPE
Do not modify the vehicle, it may interfere with the TPMS function.
The wheels on the market do not have a TPMS sensor.
For your safety, we recom-
mend that you use parts for
replacement from an autho-
rised Kia dealer.
If you use the wheels on the market, use a TPMS sensor
approved by a Kia dealer.
If your vehicle is not equipped
with a TPMS sensor or TPMS
does not work properly, you
may fail the periodic vehicle
inspection conducted in your
country.
