REMINDER: Avoid star ting or driving the vehicle when the fuel tank is empt y . As the engine will be incapable of charging the high-voltage Hybrid bat ter y, the bat ter y will lose its charge and may be damaged .
Yo u r vehicle’s instrument cluster & indicator light locations may differ from those in the illustrations . For more information on the instrument cluster, please refer to section 1 in the Owner ’s Manual .

A Power Gauge - Indicates how economically the vehicle is being driven .
• CHARGE B – Indicates that the energy made by the vehicle is being converted to electrical energy (regenerated energy)
• ECO C – Indicates that the vehicle is being driven in an ECO-friendly manner
• POWER D – Indicates that the vehicle is exceeding the ECO-friendly range
E EV Mode - Illuminates when only the electric motor is powering the vehicle
F
Ready - Illuminates when the Hybrid system is operational . Even if the engine is off, the vehicle can be driven (Plug-In Hybrid indicator location may vary from image shown)
G Service Indicator – Illuminates when a malfunction occurs in the vehicle’s Hybrid system . Have an authorized Kia dealer address the concern as soon as possible

Hood Release Lever and Latch
(Lever located near floor below Driver ’s Panel) (Latch located inside hood)
Closing the Hood:
Lower the Hood about halfway and then press down to securely lock in place .
Opening the Hood:
1 . Pull the Hood Release Lever A to unlatch the Hood
2 . In the front of the vehicle, lift the Hood slightly, push the secondary Latch B to the left inside of the Hood’s center and lift the Hood
3 . It will open by itself after it has been raised about half way
REMINDER: Open the Hood only after turning the engine off, on a flat sur face, with the gear shift in P (Park) position and set ting the parking brake .

Fuel Cap / Malfunction Indicator
(Check Engine Light)
Ensure the Fuel Cap is securely tightened (one-click on the Plug-In Hybrid) to prevent the Check Engine light / Malfunction Indicator from illuminating .
To open the Fuel Filler lid:
1. Hybrid - Press the right center edge of the Fuel Filler lid C
Plug-In Hybrid - Press the Fuel Filler Lid Release button D, located on Driver ’s Panel, left of Steering Wheel
2 . Pull the Fuel Filler lid out to fully open and place the Fuel Cap in the holder E
3 . To open the Fuel Cap, turn it counterclockwise F

Hybrid: The Fuel Filler Lid lock will unlock/open only when the unlock but ton on the Smar t Key is pressed, central door unlock but ton is pressed or the driver ’s side door is unlocked

To lock the Fuel Filler Lid, press the lock but ton on the Smar t Key or lock central door lock but ton
•
All doors and Fuel Filler Lid will automatically lock after the vehicle speed exceeds 9 mph
