HAC is designed to prevent the vehicle from rolling backward when accelerating from a stop while on a steep incline The HAC automatically activates whether the ESC is OFF or ON, but does NOT activate when the ESC has malfunctioned

Door Mood Lamp is a fixed brightness and cannot be adjusted (not to be confused with Advanced Mood Lighting Speaker)

If the brightness reaches to the maximum or minimum level, an alarm will sound

The HAC does not operate when the gear shift is in the P (Park) or the N (Neutral) position

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)*†5

The ESC system is designed to help stabilize the vehicle during certain cornering maneuvers It is a good idea to keep the ESC turned ON for daily driving whenever possible

•When HAC is active (e g , accelerating from a stop on an incline), you may notice that the brakes will momentarily remain engaged after you depress the accelerator

The ESC Indicator Light in the instrument cluster will be lit momentarily whenever the ESC is active

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) System with Door Monitoring*†3
Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) System with Door Monitoring can help alert the driver when a rear passenger may be left in the vehicle
The alert will be a message on the Instrument Cluster stating to “Check rear seats” A and a chime will sound
•ROA can be turned on/off by going to the User Settings* in the Instrument Cluster or the Vehicle Settings* in the Infotainment System
•Only adjust settings when the vehicle is at a standstill, gear shift is in Park and the ignition is on or the Engine Start/Stop button* in the on position
•To access User settings* in the Instrument Cluster - Press the Mode button B on the Steering Wheel to toggle to User Settings Press the OK button C up/down to toggle to Convenience, then press OK button C to enter Check/uncheck Rear Occupant Alert to turn it on/off
•To access Vehicle settings* in the Infotainment System – Press the SETUP key or the onscreen SETUP button Press VEHICLE to enter Vehicle Settings Select Convenience, then check/uncheck Rear Occupant Alert to turn it on/off
ROA is not a substitute for one’s at tention Always check the vehicle’s interior before exiting

Use to unlock/lock Driver ’s Door
1 Remove door handle keyhole cover with Mechanical Key by pressing up into slot as shown I (Note: Repeated removal could ruin the integrity of the keyhole cover)
2 Insert Mechanical Key H and turn right to Unlock Driver ’s Door Turn twice within 4 seconds to Unlock all doors
3 Insert Mechanical Key and turn left to Lock Driver ’s Door
4 Return keyhole cover to its original position

Smart Key with Remote Start*

•The Smar t Key ’s signal can be blocked by the normal operation of a cellphone or smar tphone To help prevent this, store each device separately
•If the Smar t Key bat ter y is weak or not working properly, hold the Smar t Key fob up to the Engine Star t/Stop but ton (Lock but ton side closest) and press to star t engine
•When reinser ting the mechanical key into the fob, make sure it is pushed all the way in until there is a click sound
