A passcode is not required for SSP
(Secure Simple Pairing) compatible
Bluetooth
® phones. Depending on the
type of Bluetooth® phone being con-
nected, a message confirming registra-
tion may be displayed on the
Bluetooth
® phone’s screen. Respond
and operate the Bluetooth® phone
according to the confirmation message.
To cancel the registration, select “Can-
cel”.
If the Bluetooth
® phone to be regis-
tered has a Bluetooth® audio function,
this can be registered at the same time.
5This screen will be displayed when
registration is complete.
When using the same telephone, it is
not necessary to register it again.
When this screen is displayed, follow
the guidance on the screen to try
again.
When another Bluetooth
® device is
connected

device needs to be deleted. Select
“Yes” to delete 1 or more.

When the “POWER” switch is in
ACCESSORY or ON mode, the system
searches for a nearby registered cellular
phone.
The system will connect with the tele-
phone that was last connected, if it is
nearby.
When “Display telephone status” is set
to “On”, the connection status is dis-
played. (See “Bluetooth
® DEVICE
CONNECTION STATUS DISPLAY
SETTINGS” on page 229.)
This screen appears when the
Bluetooth
® phone is first connected
after the “POWER” switch is in
ACCESSORY or ON mode.
1Press the “MENU” button on the
Remote Touch, then select
“Telephone”.
The “Telephone” screen can be dis-
played by pressing
on the steering
wheel.
2Select “Connect telephone”.
3Select the screen button correspond-
ing to the desired telephone connec-
tion.
When the cellular phone’s device name
has not been able to be obtained,
“Device 1” to “Device 5” will be dis-
played in the order the telephones were
registered.

does not happen. Reconnect the
Bluetooth
® phone manually.
RECONNECTING THE
Bluetooth® PHONE
If a Bluetooth® phone is disconnect-
ed due to poor reception from the
Bluetooth
® network when the
“POWER” switch is in ACCESSO-
RY or ON mode, the system auto-
matically reconnects the Bluetooth
®
phone. When “Display telephone
status” is set to “On”, the connection
status is displayed.

The “Telephone” screen can be dis-

telephone number.
Each time is selected, an input
digit is deleted.

Depending on the type of Bluetooth®
phone being connected, it may be nec-
essary to perform additional steps on
the telephone.
1Select “Contacts”.
2Select the desired data from the list.
“1/3”, “2/3”, “3/3”: Select this
screen button to change between Latin,
Cyrillic and Greek characters.
After a Bluetooth® phone has been
registered, a call can be made using
the hands-free system. There are 7
methods by which a call can be
made. These are described below.
BY DIAL
A call can be made by inputting the
telephone number.
BY PHONEBOOK
Calls can be made by using the
phonebook data which is transferred
from the registered cellular phone.
The phonebook changes depending
on the telephone connected. Up to
1000 contacts (maximum of 3 num-
bers per contact) can be registered in
each phonebook.

Select “No” or “Cancel” to cancel
transferring.
If your cellular phone is neither PBAP
nor OPP compatible, the phonebook
cannot be transferred.

3Transfer the phonebook data to the
system using a Bluetooth® phone.
Depending on the type of cellular
phone, OBEX authentication may be
required when transferring phonebook
data. Enter “1234” into the Bluetooth
®
phone.
This screen appears while transferring.
To cancel this function, select “Can-
cel”.

incompatible but OPP compatible
model is complete, “Done” will ap-
pear on the screen. Select “Done”.

The list to be displayed can be changed

dial 2” or “Speed dial 3” tab.
INFORMATION
Depending on the type of Bluetooth®
phone:
• It may be necessary to perform addi-
tional steps on the phone when
transferring phonebook data.
• The registered image on the phone-
book may not appear when phone-
book data is transferred.

Calls can be made using registered
telephone numbers which can be se-
lected from a phonebook. (See
“REGISTERING THE SPEED DI-
AL” on page 206 for registering the
speed dial.)

“Call <name>” is displayed in the
“Shortcuts” screen.
When “Call <name>” on the “Short-
cuts” screen is dimmed, the phone-
book’s speech command recognition
cannot be used. Check the Bluetooth
®
connection and if the contacts have
been transferred to the navigation sys-
tem.
2Say the name of a registered contact.
In the same manner as it is displayed on
the screen, “Call <name>”, after saying
“Call” say the name of a contact.
For example: “Call”, “John Smith” or
“Call”, “Mary Davis”, “Mobile”
Short or abbreviated names in the
phonebook may not be recognized.
Change names in the phonebook to full
names.
Sometimes a voice recognition result
confirmation screen will be displayed.
After confirming the result, say “Yes”
or “No”.
When the system recognizes multiple
names from the phonebook, a name
candidate list will be displayed on the
screen. If the desired name is not dis-
played on the top of the screen, say the
number of the name from the candidate
list (1st and 2nd) to select a name from
the candidate list.
BY VOICE RECOGNITION
Calls can be made by giving a speech
command. (For the operation and
command of voice recognition, see
“SPEECH COMMAND SYSTEM”
on page 322.)

When a contact has multiple telephone
numbers registered in the phonebook, a
candidate list will be displayed. If the
desired telephone number is not dis-
played on the top of the screen, say the
number of the desired telephone num-
ber from the candidate list (1st and 2nd)
to select a telephone number from the
candidate list.
3Say “Dial” to call the telephone
number.
1Press the talk switch.
“Dial <number>” is displayed in the
“Shortcuts” screen.
When “Dial <number>” on the “Short-
cuts” screen is dimmed, the telephone
number voice recognition cannot be
used. Check the Bluetooth
® phone con-

Say the telephone number one digit at a

Say “two three four five six seven
eight”
Do not say “twenty three forty five
sixty seven eight”
As the system cannot recognize addi-
tional numbers, say the complete num-
ber without stopping.
When the system recognizes multiple
telephone numbers, a telephone number
candidate list will be displayed on the
screen. If the desired telephone number
is not displayed on the top of the
screen, say the number of the desired
telephone number from the candidate
list (1st and 2nd) to select a telephone
number from the candidate list.

on the steering wheel to talk on the
telephone.
When a call is received, this screen is
displayed with a sound.
To refuse to receive the call: Select
or press the switch on the
steering wheel.
To adjust the volume of a received
call: Select “-” or “+”, turn the Power/
Volume knob, or use the volume
switch on the steering wheel.
INFORMATION
During international telephone calls,
the other party’s name or number may
not be displayed correctly depending
on the type of cellular phone you
have.
