Automatic door locking and unlocking systems
The following functions can be set or canceled:
■ Setting and canceling the functions
To switch between setting and canceling, follow the procedure below:
Close all the doors and switch the “ENGINE START STOP”
switch to IGNITION ON mode. (Perform step 2 within 10 sec-
onds.) Shift the shift lever to “P” or “N”,
press and hold the driver’s door
lock switch (
or ) for approxi-
mately 5 seconds then release.
The shift lever and switch positions
corresponding to the desired func-
tion to be set or canceled are
shown as follows.

unlocking functionAll doors are unlocked when the driver’s door is
opened within 10 seconds after turning the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch OFF.

When the setting or canceling operation is complete, all doors are locked
and then unlocked.

■Closing the front doors from outside with the inside lock button set in the locked
position
The door cannot be locked if the “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in ACCES-
SORY or IGNITION ON mode, or the electronic key is left in the vehicle. (How-
ever, depending on the key’s location, the system may not be able to detect it. In
these instances the door lock protection function will not operate properly.)
■Using the mechanical key
The doors can also be locked and unlocked with the mechanical key. (→P. 5 2 6 )
■Customization that can be configured at Lexus dealer
Settings (e.g. unlocking function using a key) can be changed.

CAUTION
■When the radar sensor may not be correctly detecting the vehicle ahead
Apply the brakes as necessary when any of the following types of vehicles are in
front of you.
As the sensor may not be able to correctly detect these types of vehicles, the prox-
imity alarm (→P. 506) will not be activated, and an accident may result.
●Vehicles that cut in suddenly
●Vehicles traveling at low speeds
●Vehicles that are not moving
●Vehicles with small rear ends (trailers with no load on board etc.)
●Motorcycles traveling in the same lane
■Conditions under which the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control may not function
correctly
Apply the brakes as necessary in the following conditions as the radar sensor may
not be able to correctly detect vehicles ahead, and an accident may result.
●When water or snow thrown up by the surrounding vehicles hinders the function-
ing of the sensor
●When your vehicle is pointing upwards (caused by a heavy load in the trunk, etc.)
●When the road curves or when the lanes are narrow
●When steering wheel operation or your position in the lane is unstable
●When the vehicle ahead of you decelerates suddenly
