1-3. Adjustable components (seats, mirrors, steering wheel)
1

Before driving
nLinked mirror function when reversing (vehicles with driving position memory)
The outside rear view mirrors will automatically angle downwards when the vehicle
is reversing in order to give a better view of the ground. However, this function will
not operate when the mirror select switch is in the neutral position (between “L” and
“R”).
nAuto anti-glare function (vehicles with sports or luxury package)
When the anti-glare inside rear view mirror is set to automatic mode, the outside
rear view mirrors will activate in conjunction with the anti-glare inside rear view mir-
ror to reduce reflected light. (→P. 6 5 )
nRain clearing mirrors (if equipped)
When water droplets collects on the mirror surface, for example when it rains, the
rain clearing (hydrophilic) effect of the mirrors causes the droplets to be spread out
into a film making the rear view clearer. In the following cases, the rain clearing
effect will be reduced temporarily, but will return after 1 or 2 days' exposure to
direct sunlight.
lAfter wiping dirt off the mirrors
lWhen the mirrors fog up
lAfter waxing your vehicle in an automatic car wash
lAfter your vehicle has been parked for a long period in underground parking
lots, etc. where there is no direct sunlight.

When driving
nRain drop sensor (vehicles with the rain-sensing windshield wipers)
nOutside rear view mirror defogger activation linked to windshield wiper opera-
tion
The outside rear view mirror defogger automatically turns on when you operate the
windshield wipers.
nIf no windshield washer fluid sprays
Check that the washer nozzles are not blocked if there is washer fluid in the wind-
shield washer fluid reservoir.
nCustomization that can be configured at Lexus dealer
Settings (e.g. drip prevention function) can be changed.
(Customizable features →P. 4 6 1 )
CAUTION
nCaution regarding the use of windshield wipers in “AUTO” mode
The windshield wipers may operate unexpectedly if the sensor is touched or the
windshield is subject to vibration in “AUTO” mode. Take care that your fingers or
anything else do not become caught in the windshield wipers.
The sensor judges the amount of raindrops.

3-1. Using the air conditioning system and defogger
Rear outlets
Direct air flow to the left or right,
up or down
Turn the knob fully to the outside
of the vehicle to close the vent
nUsing the automatic mode
Fan speed is adjusted automatically in accordance with the temperature setting and
ambient conditions. As a result, the following may occur.
lThe system may switch automatically to recirculated mode when the coolest
temperature setting is selected in summer.
lImmediately after is pressed, the fan may stop for a while until warm or
cool air is ready to flow.
lCool air may flow to the area around the upper body when the heater is on.
nUsing the system in recirculated air mode
The windows will fog up more easily if the recirculated air mode is used for an
extended period.
nWindow defogger feature
Recirculated air mode may automatically switch to (outside air) mode in situ-
ations where the windows need to be defogged.
nWhen outside air temperature approaches 32°F (0°C)
The air conditioning system may not operate even when is pressed.
nWhen the indicator light on flashes
Press and turn off the air conditioning system before turning it on once
more. There may be a problem in the air conditioning system if the indicator light
continues to flash. Turn the air conditioning system off and have it inspected by your
Lexus dealer.

Maintenance and care
NOTICE
nCleaning detergents
Do not use organic substances such as benzene or gasoline, acidic or alkaline solu-
tions, dye, bleach or other detergent. Doing so may discolor the vehicle interior or
cause streaks or damage to painted surfaces.
nPreventing damage to leather surfaces
Observe the following precautions to avoid damage to and deterioration of leather
surfaces.
lRemove any dust or dirt on leather surfaces immediately.
lDo not expose the vehicle to direct sunlight for extended periods of time. Park
the vehicle in the shade, especially during summer.
lDo not place items made of vinyl, plastic, or that contain wax on the upholstery, as
they may stick to the leather surface if the vehicle interior heats up significantly.
nWater on the floor
Do not wash the vehicle floor with water.
Vehicle systems such as the audio system may be damaged if water comes into
contact with electrical components under the floor of the vehicle, and may also
cause the body to rust.
nCleaning the inside of the rear window
lBe careful not to scratch or damage the heater wires or antenna.
lDo not use glass cleaner to clean the rear window, as this may cause damage to
the rear window defogger heater wires or antenna. Use a cloth dampened with
lukewarm water to gently wipe the window clean. Wipe the window in strokes
running parallel to the heater wires or antenna.
