The operational range of the wireless remote control is
approximately 1 meter (3 feet). The effective range may vary
with different conditions.
When handling, take care of the following:
Avoid knocking them hard against other objects.
Avoid putting them in water.
Locking/Unlocking the doors
When you push the ªLOCKº button on the transmitter,
all the doors can be locked from outside the vehicle.
At this time, you can hear one beep. However, when you
push the ªLOCKº button with any door not closed securely,
the buzzer sounds for 10 seconds or until all the doors are
closed securely. If the key is in the ignition switch, locking
cannot be done.
To make sure whether all the doors were locked or not, push
the ªLOCKº button once again. If they were already locked,
the headlights and tail lights will flash.
When you push the ªUNLOCKº button, the driver's
door is unlocked. Pushing that button once again
within 3 seconds from the first push, all other doors
also unlock.
At this time, two beeps sound. Together with the activation
of unlocking, the interior light comes on for 15 seconds if the
interior light switch is in ªDOORº position. For further
information, see ªInterior lightsº on page 37.
You have 30 seconds to open a door after using the remote
unlock feature. If a door is not opened by then, all the doors
will automatically relock.
Continued pushing of the ªLOCKº or ªUNLOCKº buttons will
not cause repeated locking or unlocking of the doors. To
reverse the operation performed by the remote control
feature, release the first button and then push another
button.
