▼Fuel Requirements
(SKYACTIV-D 2.2)
The vehicle will operate efficiently on diesel fuel with specif ication Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel
(ULSD, 15 ppm sulfur or less) f uel that meets the ASTM D975 standard or the equivalent.
Fuel grade labels are visible on fuel-filler lid, therefore, ve rify the fuel grade before
refueling. If the fuel grade cannot be verified, ask the gas st ation attendant.
CAUTION
Never use fuel other than specification Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD, 15 ppm sulfur or less)
fuel that meets the ASTM D975 standard or the equivalent for your vehicle. Use of gasoline
or kerosene in diesel engines will resu lt in fuel system and engine damage.
 Never use diesel fuel with concentrations of methyl ester bio-diesel higher than 5 % (B5),
such as B20 or B100.
 Never add fuel system additives other than a Mazda genuine product, otherwise the
emission control system could be damaged. Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer for
details.
 If any type of incorrect fuel is accidently pu mped into the fuel tank, do not turn on the
engine and drive the vehicle. Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer for assistance.
Turning on the engine or driving the vehicle with the incorrect fuel could cause damage to
the fuel pump and fuel injectors.
NOTE
Fuel for winter driving is available. Ask the gas station attendant for details.
When refueling, always add at least 10 L (2.6 US gal, 2.2 Imp gal) of fuel.
Low outside temperatures
When the outside temperature is low, diesel fuel (light oil) ma y freeze and clog the fuel
pipe, leading to probl ems such as the engine not starting. When driving to a cold region, add
winter grade diesel fuel as soon as possible.

Never use engine starting assist additives:
Using engine starting assist additives is dangerous because they may cause a vehicle
explosion or a vehicle runaway condition, leading to serious injury or death.

vehicle.
▼Tachometer
The tachometer shows engine speed in
thousands of revolutions per minute (rpm).
CAUTION
Do not run the engine with the tachometer
needle in the RED ZONE.
This may cause severe engine damage.

Meter Selector
The odometer is constantly displayed on
the screen when the
ignition is switched
ON, and the TRIP A or TRIP B screen can
be displayed by operating the INFO
switch.

the vehicle has been driven.

The driving distance for a specified
interval is indicated
. Two types (TRIP A,
TRIP B) of interva l distance and the
average fuel economy for each can be
measured.

For instance, trip meter A can record the
distance from the point of origin, and trip
meter B can record the distance from
where the fuel tank is filled.

When trip meter A is selected, TRIP A
will be displayed. Wh en trip meter B is
selected, TRIP B will be displayed.

The trip meter and average fuel economy
can be reset by pressi ng the INFO switch
for 1.5 seconds or more while in each
mode.
NOTE
Only the trip meters record tenths of
kilometers (miles).
The trip record will be erased when:
The power supply is interrupted
(blown fuse or the battery is
disconnected).
The vehicle is driven over 9999.9 km
(mile).

Fuel Economy Monitor
The Control Status*1 and Fuel Consumption are switched and displayed by operating each
icon in the display.
In addition, after completing a t rip, the total energy efficiency to date is displayed in the
ending display when the ending display is turned on.
1. Select the
icon on the home screen to display the Applications screen.
2. Select the “Fuel Economy Monitor”.
3. Select the
icon at the bottom left of the screen to display the menu in t he lower part
of the screen.
4. Select the icon in the menu and perform the operation. Each i con operates as follows:
Indication on display Control status
Hides the menu display.
Displays the Applications screen.
Switches the Fuel Economy Monitor in the order of
Control Status*1 and Fuel Consumption.
Resets the fuel economy data.
Displays the followi ng setting screen.
Ending display on/off switching(With Type C instrument cluster)
On/off switching for function which synchronizes
(links) reset of fuel econo my data with trip meter
(TRIP A)
*1 With Cylinder Deactivation.
NOTE
The fuel economy monitor screen after the ignition is switched from ON to OFF is changed
to the original fuel economy monitor screen wh en the ignition is switched ON the next time.

▼Fuel Consumption Display
Information regarding the fuel economy is displayed.
Indication on display
Control status
Displays the fuel economy for the past 60 minutes.
Displays the fuel economy every minute for the past
1 to 10 minutes.
Displays the fuel economy every 10 minutes for the
past 10 to 60 minutes.
Displays the average fuel economy over the past 5
resets and after the current reset.
Calculates the average fuel economy every minute
after vehicle travel begins, and displays it.
NOTE
(With Type A/B instrument cluster)
The fuel economy data is synchronized (linked) with the average fuel economy
displayed in the tripmeter (TRIP A).
To reset the fuel economy data, press the icon in the menu. (The average fuel
economy and TRIP A displayed in the tripmeter (TRIP A) reset at the same time.)
After resetting the fuel economy data, “- - -” is displayed while the average fuel
economy is being calculated.
(With Type C instrument cluster)
The fuel economy data is synchronized (linked) with the average fuel economy
displayed in the trip computer.
To reset the fuel economy data, press the icon in the menu. (The average fuel
economy displayed in the trip comp uter resets at the same time.)
After resetting the fuel economy data, “- - -” is displayed while the average fuel
economy is being calculated.
