ing the vehicle settings while the vehicle is
in motion
You could lose control of the vehicle in the fol-
lo
wing situations in particular:
= if you adjust the driver's seat, the head
restraint, the steering wheel or the mirror
while the vehicle is in motion
= if you fasten your seat belt while the vehi-
cle is in motion 
Before starting the vehicle: in particular,
adjus

steering wheel and mirror, and fasten
your seat belt. &

apped if the
seat height is adjusted carelessly
If you adjust the seat height carelessly, you or
o
ther vehicle occupants could be trapped and
thereby injured. Children in particular could accidentally press
t

he electrical seat adjustment buttons and
become trapped. 
While moving the seats, make sure that
hands or o
ther body parts do not get
under the lever assembly of the seat
adjustment system. &
WARNING Risk of injur
y due to head
restraints not being Ntted or being adjus-
ted incorrectly
If head restraints have not been installed or
ha
ve not been adjusted correctly, there is an
increased risk of injury in the head and neck
area, e.g. in the event of an accident or when
braking. 
Always drive with the head restraints Nt-

ed.

vehicle occupant that the centre of the
head restraint supports the back of the
head at about eye level. &

incorrect seat position
The seat belt will not oMer t
he intended level
of protection if you have not moved the seat
backrest to an almost vertical position.
In particular, you may slip under the seatbelt
and injure yourself. 
Adjust the seat properly before begin-

Always ensure that the seat backrest is
in an almos

t vertical position and that
the shoulder section of your seat belt is
routed across the centre of your shoul-
der. &

If you apply your full body weight to the grab
handle or pull it abr
uptly, the grab handle may
be damaged or become loose from its anchor-

Objects trapped under the co-driver seat can

erfere with the function of the automatic

Do not store any objects under the co-

iver seat. 
When the co-driver seat is occupied,

e sure that no objects are trapped
under the co-driver seat. Adjusting the seat f

Make sure that the seat is engaged. 
To adjust the seat cushion length (driver's

y): lis lever 1 and slide the front sec-
tion of the seat cushion forwards or back-
wards. 
To adjust the seat cushion inclination: tur

handwheel 3 forwards and backwards until
the desired position has been reached. 
To adjust the seat height: push or pull le
ver 4
until the desired position has been reached. 
To adjust the seat backrest inclination: tur

handwheel 5 forwards and backwards until
the desired position has been reached.

If head restraints have not been installed or

increased risk of injury in the head and neck
area, e.g. in the event of an accident or when

vehicle occupant that the centre of the
head restraint supports the back of the
head at about eye level. Do not interchange the head restraints of the
fr
ont and rear seats. Otherwise, you will not be
able to adjust the height and angle of the head
restraints correctly.
Adjust the head restraint fore-and-as position so
that it is as close as possible to the back of your
head. 
To raise: pull t he head restraint up. 
To lower: pr
ess release knob 1 in the direc-
tion of the arrow and push the head restraint
down. 
To move forwards: pr
ess release knob 2 and
pull the head restraint forwards. 
To move backwards: pr
ess release knob 2

Release the rear seat backrest and fold it for-

ards slightly (  page 122). 
Pull the head restraint upwards as far as it will
go. 
Push release knob 1 in t
he direction of the
arrow and pull out the head restraint. Installing

direction of travel. 
Push the head restraint down until it engages. 
Fold the rear seat backrest back until it

Switching the seat heating
on/oM&
WARNING Risk of bur ns due to repeatedly
switching on the seat heating
Repeatedly switching on the seat heating can
cause t
he seat cushion and seat backrest pad-
ding to become very hot.
In particular, the health of persons with limited
temperature sensitivity or a limited ability to
react to high temperatures may be aMected or
they may even suMer burn-like injuries. 
Do not repeatedly switch on the seat
heating. To protect against overheating, the seat heating
ma

y be temporarily deactivated aser it has been
switched on repeatedly.

heater is switched on When the seat heater is switched on, over-
heating ma
y occur due to objects or docu- ments placed on the seats e.g. seat cushions

Make sure that no objects or documents

switched on. Requirements:

heating level is set.
Depending on the heating level, up to three
indicator lamps will light up. If all indicator
lamps are oM, the seat heating is switched oM.

% In the ECO drive program, the seat heating
can switc
h on automatically at a low heating
level to support the function of the air condi-
tioning system . The indicator lamps will not

blower setting has been reached.
Depending on the blower setting, up to three
indicator lamps will light up. If all indicator
lamps are oM, the seat ventilation is switched
