All processing of personal data via the 112 emer-
ge ncy call system (EU eCall) cor responds with the
speci/cations in the EU Regulation 2016/679 "on
th e pr otection of natural entities with rega rd to
th e processing of personal data (GDPR)" and is
based particular lyon the necessity of upholding
th e vital interests of the a.ected person in
accordance with Article 6, Clause 1, Letter d of
th e GDPR.
The processing of this type of data is strictly limi-
te dto the purpose of operating the emer gency
calls tothe standard European emer gency call
number 112.

Bo th emer gency call systems are designed so that
th efo llowing requ irements are ful/lled:
R The data contained in the system memory is
not accessible outside the system prior tothe
initiation of an emer gency call.
R Both emer gency call systems cannot be
traced and there is no continuous tracking in
normal operation.
R The data in the system's internal memory is
automatically and continuously dele ted.
R The location data of theve hicle is continu-
ously overwritten in the system's internal
memor y,so that no more than the last three
cur rent locations requ ired forth e normal func-
tion of the system are available.
R The record of the activity data of bo themer-
ge ncy call systems is only kept for as long as is
required toful/l the purpose of handling the
emer gency call, ho weverfo r no longer than
13 hours aTer the time that an emer gency call
is initia ted.
