functions on your mobile phone via the multime- dia system display.

\bMercedes-Benz recommends disconnecting
the connection via the device manager or the connecting cable only when the vehicle is sta-

Overview of transferred vehicle data
When using Smartphone Integration, certain vehi-
cle data is transferred to the mobile phone. This enables you to get the best out of selected mobile phone services. Vehicle data is not directly acces-
sible.
The following system information is transmitted:
= Sosware release of the multimedia system
= System ID (anonymized)
The transfer of this data is used to optimize com-
munication between the vehicle and the mobile phone.
To do this, and to assign several vehicles to the
mobile phone, a vehicle identiNer is randomly gen-
erated.
This has no connection to the vehicle identiNca-
tion number (VIN) and is deleted when the multi-
media system is reset ( page 264).
The following driving status data is transmitted:
= Transmission position engaged
= Distinction between parked, standstill, rolling
and driving
= Day/night mode of the driver\bs display
= Drive type
The transfer of this data is used to alter how con- tent is displayed to correspond to the driving sit-
uation.
The following position data is transmitted: = Coordinates
= Speed
= Compass direction
= Acceleration direction
The mobile phone uses this data to improve the
accuracy of navigation, for example, when driving
through a tunnel.Mercedes-Benz emergency call system

dealership to reactivate the system.
Overview of the Mercedes-Benz emergency call
system
eCall can help to reduce the time between an
accident and the arrival of emergency services at
the site of the accident. It helps locate an acci-
dent site in places that are diPcult to access.
However, even if a vehicle is equipped with eCall,
this does not mean the system is ON. As such, eCall does not replace dialing 911 in the event of
an accident.
An emergency call can be made automatically or
manually.
Only make emergency calls if you or others are in
need of rescue. Do not make an emergency call in
the event of a breakdown or a similar situation.
