If an inappropriate coolant is used, the cooling
system is not suPciently protected against
overheating and corrosion at high outside

Only use coolant approved for
Mercedes-Benz.Observe the instructions in the Mercedes-Benz SpeciNcations for Oper-
ating Fluids 320.1.
Have the coolant regularly replaced at a qualiNed
specialist workshop.
Proportion of antifreeze concentrate in the cool- ing system:
= A minimum of 50% (antifreeze protection down
to about -35°F (-37°C))
= A maximum of 55% (antifreeze protection
down to -49°F (-45°C))

For the correct mixing ratio, refer to the informa-
tion on the antifreeze container.
Mix washing water with windshield washer Ouid all
year round.

Introduction
qNotes about display messages
Display messages appear on the driver display.
Display messages with graphical symbols are sim-
pliNed in the Operator\bs Manual and may diMer
from the symbols on the driver display. The driver display shows high-priority display messages in
red. Certain display messages are accompanied by a warning tone.
Please act in accordance with the display mes-
sages and follow the additional notes in the Oper-
ator\bs Manual.
For some display messages, symbols will also be
shown:

ual*The front passenger airbag has been disabled even though an adult or a person of adult stature is on the front passenger seat. If additional forces are applied to the seat, the weight the system detects may be too low.&WARNING Risk of injury or fatal injury due to a disabled front passenger airbag
If the front passenger airbag is disabled, the front passenger airbag will not be deployed in the event of an accident
and cannot perform its intended protective function.
A person in the front passenger seat could then, for example, come into contact with the vehicle\bs interior, espe-
cially if the person is sitting too close to the cockpit.
Make sure, both before and during the journey, that the status of the front passenger airbag is correct.Stop the vehicle immediately in accordance with the traPc conditions.Make sure that no objects are trapped under the front passenger seat.Check the status of automatic front passenger airbag actuation (  page 44).If necessary, consult a qualiNed specialist workshop immediately.Front Passenger Airbag
Enabled See Operator's
Manual*The front passenger airbag will be enabled while the vehicle is in motion in the following situations:
= Even when a child, a person of smaller stature or an object weighing less than the system weight threshold is loca-
ted on the front passenger seat
= Even when the front passenger seat is not occupied

bled
If you secure a child in a child restraint system on the front passenger seat and the front passenger airbag is ena-
bled, the front passenger airbag can deploy in the event of an accident.
The child could be struck by the airbag.
Ensure, both before and during the journey, that the status of the front passenger airbag is correct.
NEVER use a rearward facing child restraint on a seat protected by an ACTIVE AIRBAG in front of it, DEATH or
SERIOUS INJURY to the CHILD can occur.
Stop the vehicle immediately in accordance with the traPc conditions.Make sure that no objects are trapped under the front passenger seat.Check the status of automatic front passenger airbag actuation (  page 44).If necessary, consult a qualiNed specialist workshop immediately.PRE-SAFE Inoperative See
