With tab 1 facing backwards, push the parti-
tioning net cassette back from the rear seat
into brackets 2.
The partitioning net cassette will audibly
engage on the les and right.Ensure that red lock veriNcation indicators 3
on the cover on the les and right are no longer
visible. Otherwise, the partitioning net cas-
sette will not be locked.Installing with load compartment enlargementPush the arms of partitioning net cassette 2
into the recess in seat backrest 3.Ensure that red lock veriNcation indicators 1
on the seat backrest on the les and right are
no longer visible. Otherwise, the partitioning
net cassette will not be locked.%When installing the partitioning net cassette,

Attaching/removing the partitioning net
&WARNING Risk of injury or death due to
poorly secured objects
The partitioning net alone cannot secure or
restrain heavy objects, items of luggage or
heavy loads.
You could be hit by an unsecured load, partic- ularly in the event of abrupt changes in direc-
tion, sudden braking or an accident.
Always stow objects in such a way that
they cannot be thrown around.Secure objects, luggage or loads against
slipping or tipping over, e.g. by using
lashing material, even if you are using
the partitioning net.For safety reasons, always use a partitioning net

1Bag hookAttaching a roof luggage rack&WARNING Risk of accident due to exceed-
ing the maximum roof load
The vehicle centre of gravity and the usual
driving characteristics as well as the steering
and braking characteristics alter.
If you exceed the maximum roof load, the driv- ing characteristics, as well as steering and
braking, will be greatly impaired.
Never exceed the maximum roof load
and adjust your driving style.You will Nnd information on the maximum roof
load in the "Technical data" section.*NOTE Damage to the panorama sliding
sunroof due to non-approved roof luggage
racks
The panorama sliding sunroof may be dam-
aged by the roof luggage rack if you attempt to
open it when using a roof luggage rack not
tested and approved for Mercedes-Benz.
When a roof luggage rack is Ntted, open
the panorama sliding sunroof only if this
has been tested and approved for
Mercedes-Benz.
The panorama sliding sunroof may be raised
to allow ventilation of the vehicle interior.
Notes on driving with a roof load
= Distribute roof load and cargo evenly and
place heavy objects at the bottom. You should also observe the notes on loading the vehicle
(  page 109).
= Drive carefully, avoiding abrupt pulling away,
braking and steering, as well as fast cornering.
= When transporting roof loads and when the
vehicle is fully loaded or fully occupied, select
drive programs  and A . These are
designed to focus on stability (  page 170).
Secure the roof luggage rack to the roof rail-
ing.Observe the manufacturer's installation

Sockets
Using the 12 V socket
Requirements: = Only connect devices up to a maximum of
180 W (15 A).
Depending on the vehicle equipment, the vehicle
has the following 12 V sockets:
= In the front passenger footwell
= In the electronics compartment in the centre
console of the rear passenger compartment
= In the load compartment
Example: 12 V socket in the front passenger
footwellFold up socket cap 1.Insert the plug of the device.USB port in the rear passenger compartment
Depending on its equipment, the vehicle has the
following USB ports:
= in the stowage compartment in the front
centre console
= in the stowage compartment under the front
armrest
= In the electronics compartment in the centre
console of the rear passenger compartment
Depending on the vehicle equipment, the vehicle
has either a single or a double USB port in the
stowage compartment in the front centre console
and beneath the front armrest.
You can charge a USB device, such as a mobile
phone, at the USB ports using a suitable charging
cable. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the
devices can be charged with up to 20 V (5 A)
when the ignition is switched on.

Notes on wirelessly charging the mobile phone
&WARNING Risk of injury due to objects
being stowed incorrectly
If objects in the vehicle interior are stowed
incorrectly, they can slide or be thrown around
and hit vehicle occupants. In addition, cup
holders, open stowage spaces and mobile
phone receptacles cannot always retain all
objects within.
There is a risk of injury, particularly in the
event of sudden braking or a sudden change
in direction.
Always stow objects so that they cannot
be thrown around in such situations.Always make sure that objects do not
protrude from stowage spaces, luggage
nets or stowage nets.Close the lockable stowage spaces before starting a journey.Always stow and secure heavy, hard,
pointed, sharp-edged, fragile or bulky
objects in the boot/load compartment.Observe the notes on loading the vehicle.&WARNING Risk of Nre from placing objects
in the mobile phone stowage compart-
ment
Placing other objects in the mobile phone stowage compartment could constitute a Nre
hazard.
Apart from a mobile phone, do not place
any other objects in the mobile phone
stowage compartment, especially those

ing them in the mobile phone stowage
compartment
If objects are placed in the mobile phone
stowage compartment, they may be damaged
by electromagnetic Nelds.
Do not place credit cards, data storage
devices, ski passes or other objects sen-
sitive to electromagnetic Nelds in the
mobile phone stowage compartment.*NOTE Damage to the mobile phone stow-
age compartment caused by liquids
If liquids enter the mobile phone stowage
compartment, the compartment may be dam-
aged.
Ensure that no liquids enter the mobile phone stowage compartment.
Always observe the notes for persons with elec- tronic medical aids (  page 30).
= Depending on the vehicle equipment, the
mobile phone is connected to the vehicle's exterior aerial via the charging module.
= The charging function and wireless connection
of the mobile phone to the vehicle's exterior
aerial are only available if the ignition is
switched on.

=Small mobile phones may not be able to be
charged in every position of the mobile phone stowage compartment.
= Large mobile phones which do not rest Oat in
the mobile phone stowage compartment may not be able to be charged or connected withthe vehicle's exterior aerial.

The mobile phone may heat up during the
charging process. This may also depend on
the applications (apps) currently open in the
background.
=
To ensure more ePcient charging and connec-
tion with the vehicle's exterior aerial, remove
the protective cover from the mobile phone. Protective covers which are necessary for
wireless charging are an exception.
Wirelessly charging a mobile phone in the front
Requirements: = The mobile phone is suitable for wireless
charging.

Place the mobile phone as close to the centre
of mat 1 as possible with the display facing
upwards.
When a message is shown in the multimedia sys- tem, the mobile phone is being charged. In addi-tion, malfunctions during the mobile phone's
charging process are shown in the multimedia system display.
%The mat can be removed for cleaning, e.g.
using clean, lukewarm water.
Radio equipment approval numbers for Brazil
This device operates on a secondary basis, that is
to say it has no protection against harmful inter-
ference, not even from the same type of stations, and must not cause interference with systems operating on a primary basis.

Fitting/removing the Ooor mats&WARNING Risk of accident due to objects
in the driver's footwell
Objects in the driver's footwell may impede
pedal travel or block a depressed pedal.
This jeopardises the operating and road safety
of the vehicle.
Stow all objects in the vehicle securely so that they cannot get into the driver's
footwell.Always Nt the Ooor mats securely and as
prescribed in order to ensure that there
is always suPcient room for the pedals.Do not use loose Ooor mats and do not
place Ooor mats on top of one another.Fitting Ooor matsSlide the corresponding seat backwards and
lay the Ooor mat in the footwell.Press studs 1 onto holders 2.Adjust the corresponding seat.
Removing Ooor mats
Slide the corresponding seat backwards.Pull the Ooor mat oM holders 2.Remove the Ooor mat.
Inserting or removing Ooor mats on the second
row of seats
To insert: push the corresponding seat on the
Nrst row of seats forwards and lay the Ooor
mat in the rear footwell such that it Nts neatly.To remove: push the corresponding seat on
the Nrst row of seats forwards and remove the

Exterior lighting
Notes on adjusting the lights when driving abroad
The headlamps will automatically be adjusted
when the vehicle crosses the border into coun- tries in which traPc drives on the other side of
the road and will retain their full range of func-
tions. If necessary, the headlamps can also be
adjusted manually in the Low beam menu
(  page 136).
In the following cases, check the setting of the headlamps and change it manually if necessary:
= If the Dipped-beam setting (left/right-side
traffic) Manual adjustment only display mes-
sage is displayed.
= If the Check dipped-beam setting (left/right-
side traffic) display message is displayed.
Following manual adjustment: = Oncoming traPc will not be dazzled.
= The edge of the road will not be illuminated as
far or as high.
= The "motorway mode" and "enhanced fog
light" functions will not be available.
Information about lighting systems and your responsibility
The various lighting systems of the vehicle are
only aids. The driver of the vehicle is responsible
for correct vehicle illumination in accordance with the prevailing light and visibility conditions, legal
requirements and traPc situation.
