Manual
*The yellow 00EE indicator lamp is lit. The electric parking brake is malfunctioning.
To apply:Switch the ignition oM and switch it back on.Apply the electric parking brake manually (  page 187).
If it is not possible to apply the electric parking brake:
Consult a qualiNed specialist workshop.Where necessary, also secure the parked vehicle against rolling away.*The yellow 00EE indicator lamp and the red 00EE indicator lamp are lit. The electric parking brake is malfunctioning.
To release:Switch the ignition oM and switch it back on.Release the electric parking brake manually (  page 187).
or
Release the electric parking brake automatically (  page 186).
If it is still not possible to release the electric parking brake:
Do not continue driving. Consult a qualiNed specialist workshop.*The yellow 00EE indicator lamp is lit and the red 00EE indicator lamp is Oashing. The electric parking brake is malfunc-

Apply and then release the electric parking brake manually.
If it is not possible to apply the electric parking brake or the red 00EE indicator lamp continues to Oash
Do not continue driving. Consult a qualiNed specialist workshop.Where necessary, also secure the parked vehicle against rolling away.*The yellow 00EE indicator lamp is lit and the red 00EE indicator lamp Oashes for approximately ten seconds aser the
electric parking brake has been applied or released. It then remains lit or goes out. The electric parking brake is mal-
functioning.
If the state of charge is too low: Charge the 12 V battery.
To apply:

If the conditions for automatic release are fulNlled and the electric parking brake is not released automatically,
release the electric parking brake manually (  page 187).
If it is still not possible to release the electric parking brake:
Do not continue driving. Consult a qualiNed specialist workshop.

*The red 00EE indicator lamp is Oashing.
The electric parking brake is applied while you are driving:
= A condition for automatic release of the electric parking brake has not been fulNlled ( page 186).

*A malfunction has occurred while the HOLD function was activated. A horn may also sound at regular intervals. You cannot start the engine.Immediately depress the brake pedal Nrmly until the display message disappears.
You can restart the engine.

Check brake fluid level
*There is insuPcient brake Ouid in the brake Ouid reservoir.&WARNING Risk of an accident due to low brake Ouid level
If the brake Ouid level is too low, the braking eMect and the braking characteristics may be impaired.
