=At speeds between 25 mph (40 km/h) and
43 mph (70 km/h) and when the steeringwheel is turned
TraPc circle and intersection function: the corner-
ing light will be activated on both sides based on an evaluation of the vehicle\bs current navigation
position. It will remain active until aser the vehicle
has les the traPc circle or intersection.

The headlamps follow the steering move-
ments.
= Relevant areas are better illuminated during a
journey.
The functions are active when the high beam is
switched on.
Adaptive Highbeam Assist

&WARNING Risk of accident despite Adap-
tive Highbeam Assist
Adaptive Highbeam Assist does not react to:
= Road users without lights, e.g. pedestrians
= Road users with poor lighting, e.g. cyclists
= Road users whose lighting is obstructed,
e.g. by a barrier
On very rare occasions, Adaptive Highbeam
Assist may fail to recognize other road users with their own lighting, or may recognize them
too late.
In these, or in similar situations, the automatic
high beam will not be deactivated or will be
activated despite the presence of other road
users.Always observe the road and traPc con-
ditions carefully and switch oM the high
beam in good time.Adaptive Highbeam Assist cannot take into
account road, weather or traPc conditions.
Detection may be restricted in the following
cases:
= In poor visibility, e.g. fog, heavy rain or snow
= if there is dirt on the sensors or the sensors
are obscured
Adaptive Highbeam Assist is only an aid. You are
responsible for adjusting the vehicle\bs lighting to the prevailing light, visibility and traPc conditions.Light and visibility119

Adaptive Highbeam Assist automatically switches
between the following types of light:
= Low-beam headlamps
= High beam
At speeds greater than 19 mph (30 km/h): = If no other road users are detected, high beam
will switch on automatically.
The high beam will switch oM automatically in the
following cases:
= At speeds below 16 mph (25 km/h)
= If other road users are detected
= If street lighting is suPcient\bThe system\bs optical sensor is located behind
the windshield near the overhead control
panel.

When the vehicle is unlocked, a special ambi-
ent lighting sequence will run.
Activating dependency on air conditioning set-
tings
Select Color.Select Climate .
If changes are made to the temperature set-
ting in the vehicle, the color of the ambient
lighting will change brieOy.

front-passenger mirror
The outside mirror on the front passenger side
reOects objects on a smaller scale. The
objects in view are in fact closer than they appear.
Therefore, always look over your shoul-
der to check the actual distance between you and the road users traveling
behind you.To fold in or out: brieOy press button 2.To set: press button 1 or 3 to select the
outside mirror to be adjusted.Use button 4 to adjust the position of the
mirror glass.\bIf the battery has been disconnected or com-
pletely discharged, you will have to reset theoutside mirrors. Only then will the automatic mirror folding function work properly.To reset: brieOy press button 2.
An outside mirror that has been pushed out of
position can be engaged in position again as fol-
lows:
Vehicles without electrically folding outside
mirrors: Manually move the outside mirror into
the correct position.Vehicles with electrically folding outside mir-
rors: Press and hold button 2.
You will hear a click and the mirror will audibly click into place. The outside mirror will now be
set to the correct position.
Automatic anti-glare mirrors function
&WARNING Risk of acid burns and poison-
ing due to the anti-glare mirror electrolyte
Electrolyte may escape if the glass in an auto-
matic anti-glare mirror breaks.
The electrolyte is hazardous to health and cau-
ses irritation. It must not come into contact

with your skin, eyes, respiratory organs or
clothing or be swallowed.If you come into contact with electrolyte, observe the following:
= Immediately rinse the electrolyte
from your skin with water and seek
medical attention.
= If electrolyte comes into contact with
your eyes, immediately rinse them
thoroughly with clean water and seek
medical attention.
= If the electrolyte is swallowed, imme-
diately rinse your mouth out thor-
oughly. Do not induce vomiting. Seek
medical attention immediately.
= Immediately change out of clothing
which has been contaminated with
electrolyte.
= If an allergic reaction occurs, seek
medical attention immediately.
The inside rearview mirror and the outside mirroron the driver\bs side will automatically go into anti-
glare mode if light from a headlamp hits the sen-sor on the inside rearview mirror.
System limits
The system will not go into anti-glare mode if:
= The vehicle is switched oM.
= Reverse gear is engaged.
= The interior lighting is switched on.
Front-passenger outside mirror parking position
function
The parking position makes parking easier.
The front-passenger outside mirror will swivel downwards in the direction of the rear wheel on
the front passenger\bs side when:
= The parking position is stored (  page 126).
= The front-passenger mirror is selected.
= Reverse gear is engaged.
The front-passenger outside mirror will move back
to its original position when:
= You shis the transmission to another transmis-
sion position.
= You are traveling at a speed greater than
9 mph (15 km/h).
= You press the button for the outside mirror on
the driver\bs side.

Press button 1 to select the front-passenger

Calling up
Press button 1 to select the front-passenger

Overview of climate control systems
Notes on climate control
For the air-conditioning system, pollution level
monitoring and air Nltration to function correctly,
an interior air Nlter must always be used. Make
sure that the Nlter is installed correctly. Use Nlters
recommended and approved by Mercedes-Benz.
Always have maintenance work carried out at a
qualiNed specialist workshop.

The indicator lamps on the buttons indicate that
the corresponding functions are activated.
