Getting started
Adjusting
Before starting off, adjust the rear-view
mirror and the exterior mirrors in such a
way that you can get a good overview of
road and traffic conditions. Rear-vie

6 Adjust the rear-view mirror manually. Exterior mirrors
The buttons are located above the parking
brake release handle.
1 Adjustment button
2 Right-hand mirror
3 Left-hand mirror 6
Make sure that the ignition is switched
on.
All the lamps in the instrument cluster
light up.
6 Press button 2for the right-hand
mirror or button 3for the left-hand
mirror.
6 Press up or down, right or left on
adjustment button 1until the mirror
is set correctly.
i The conve xexterior mirror enlarges your
field of vis ion.
The mirrors are heated automatically at low out-
si de temperatures.
You will find further information in the

Risk of accident The
exterior mirrors reduce the size of the
image. The objects are actuallyclo ser than
they appear .You could misjudge the dis-
tance fro mvehicles driving behind and
ca use an accident, e.g. when changing lane.
For this reason, make sure of the actual dis-
tan cefrom the vehicle driving behind by

An audible and visual alarmis triggered if
the vehicle is locked and movement is
detected inside the vehicle, e.g. if:
! somebody smashes one of the side
windows
! someone reaches inside the vehicle
! there is someone inthe vehicle
The button is located on the centre con-
sole.
1 Todeactivate the interior motion
sensor
2 Indicator lamp Priming the interior motion sensor

Close the side windows and sl iding /
tilting sunroof*.
The interior motion sensor cannot be
prime dif the sliding /tilting sunroof* is
open.
6 Lock your vehicle.
The interior motion sensor is primed
after approximately 30 seconds.
i Do not leave any items (e.g. mascots or coat
hangers) hanging from the rear-view mirror or on
the grab handles on the roof lining. They could
ot he rwise trigger a false alarm. De
activating the interior motion sensor
Deactivate the interior motion sensor if
people or ani mals are to remain in the
locked vehicle. This will prevent false
alarms.
6 Turn the key to position 0or 1in the
ignition lock, or remove it.
6 Press button 1.
The indicator lamp in button 2flashes
briefly.
i The interior motion sensor remains deacti-

co uld otherwise trigger afalse alarm.
Do not leave anything on the armre stinthe cen-
tr e console, otherwise the function of the inte-
ri or mo tionsensor could be impaired.
Do not leav eany metal objects in contact with
ea ch other (e.g. keys on a key ring) in or near the
ar mrest or in thest owage compartment between
th e rear seats as they could trigger a false alarm.
These items should be kept in one of the other
lo ckable stowage compartme nts. Primi
ngthe in terior motion sens or
6 Close the stowage compartment on the
centre consol e.
6 Close the side windows and the soft
top.
6 Lock your vehicle.
The interior motion sensor is primed
after approximately 40 seconds. i
In some countries, the interior motion sen-
so ris primed even when the soft top is ope n.
You should onlypark the vehicle with the soft top
cl osed, however, so that falling leaves or insects,
for example, do not trigger a false alarm. Dea

Deactivate the interior motion sensor if
people or animals are to remain in the
locked vehicle. This will prevent false
ala rms.
6 Turn the key to position 0or 1in the
ignition lock, or remove it.
6 Press button 1.

Seats
You will find information about adjus

You will find information about folding for-
ward the rea rbench seat in the Through-
loading feature* (Coupé) section
( = pa ge 223).
The easy-entr y/exit feature facilitates get-
ting into and out of the vehicle.
The driver's seat moves back and the
steering wheel moves up when you:
! remove the key from the ignition lock
! open the driver's door and the key isin
position 0or 1in the ignition lock
If you insert the key into the ignition lock
when the driver's door is closed, the
driver's seat and the steering wheel return
to their previous position depending on the
settings stored and the key being used. i
The driver's seat only moves ba ckif it was
not already positioned in the rear part of its
adjustment range.
The steeri ngwheel only moves up if itwas not
already positioned at th eupper limit. i
The adjustment procedu reis:
! interrupted briefly whe nyou start the engine
! halted co mpletely if you start the engine and
pull away immediately
i To preve ntentr apment, the driver' sseat
only moves for wards if it was not already posi-
tioned in the fro ntpart of its adjustm ent range.
The last positions of the driver's seat,
steering wheel and exterior mirrors will be
stored ifyou:
! switch off the ignition
or ! store a memory positio n(=page 97)
You can configure the easy-entry /exit
feature using the operating system

Risk of injury Make sure that nobody can become trapped
when you activate the
easy-entry /exit fea-
ture.
Halt the adju stment procedure if there is a
risk of entrapment .To haltthe adjustment
procedure:
! move the seat adjustme ntswitch
! move the steering column adj ustment
switch
! pres sthe storage pos ition switch
The seat and steering column stop moving
immediately.
Never leave children unsupervised in the
vehi cle. They could open the driver's door,
inadvertently activate the easy-e ntry feature

Storing settings* (memory package)
You can store up to three different settings
for each key using the memory function.
With KEYLESS GO*, it is possib leto store a
furthe r three settings for both KEYLESS
GO keys* together. Thes ethree settings
are activated for each KEYLESS GO key* if
you operate the vehicle us ing KE YLESS
GO*.
The following settings are stored:
! Seat, backrest and head restraint
pos ition
! Driver's side: steering wheel position
! Driver's side: exterior mirror position
i Each additional key has the same settings as
KE YLESS GO*. You can deactivate key-dependent set-
tings using the operating system
(=
pag e130).
The memory button and storage position
sw itch are located in the door control
panel.
1 Mmemory button
2 Storage positions 1, 2, 3 6
Make sure that:
! the ignition is switched on
or ! the respective door is open
6 Adjust the seat.
6 On the driver's side, also adjust the
steering wheel and the mirrors
(=
page 25).
6 Turn storage position switch 2to the
required memory position 1, 2or3.

Turn the storage position switch to the
required memory position.
6 Press and hold the storage position
switch until the seat, steering wheel
and mirrors have moved to the stored
positions.
i The sett ing pro cedu re is interrup ted as soon
as you release the storage position switch.
! Ifyou want the seat to resu meast ored posi-
tion after having bee nreclined, first place the
backrest in an upright position usi ngthe seat
swi tch. The seat could otherwise be damaged. To make it easier to park, you can store the
passenger-side exterior mirror position
in
such a way that you can see the rear left
wheel as soon as you engage reverse gear.
The exterior mirror on the front-passenger
side returns to the stored driv ing position
if you:
! disen gage reverse gear
! exceed a speed of 10 km /h
You can store one parking position per key
for the exterior mirror on the front-passen-
ge r side by pressin gthe memory button.

The parking position is stored if the
mirror does not move.

Yo u ca n move the mirror again after storing the
setting. The exterior mirror returns to
its original
position:
! approximately 10 seconds after a for-
ward gear isengaged
! approximately 10 seconds after you
move the selector lever to position D
! ifyou exceed a speed of approximately
10 km /hregardless of the gear
engaged
! ifyou press the button for the exterior
mirror on the driver's side
You can activate and deactivate this func-
tion using the operating system
