Setting the specified distance forDistr
onic
You can set the speci fied distance for
Distronic by varying the time span
between 1.0 and 2.0 seconds. This time
span specifies the distance to be main-
tained from the veh icle in front by Dis-
tronic in rel ation to your vehicle's speed.
You can see the distance inthe multi-func-
tion display or speedometer disp lay.

tion on /off
2 Toset the speci fied distance Increasing the specified distance
If you increase the specified distance,
Distronic maintains a greater distance
from the vehicle in front.
6 Turn thumbwheel 2towards ¯.
Decreasing the specified distance
If you decrease the specified distance,
Distronic maintains a shorter distance
from the vehicle in front.
6 Turn thumbwheel 2tow ards ® . Distance warning function
Thi

to the vehicle in front istoo small, even
when Di stronic is deactivated:
! The l distance warning lamp in the
instrument cluster lights up.
! You may hear an intermittent signal. You must brake yourself to maintain the
correct distance from the vehicle in front
and
toavoid crashing.
i Distronic does not always clearly recognise
compl ex road and traffic situations . You will then
receive an incorrect dis tanc ew arning signal or
none at all.
