% Leather is a natural product. It exhibits natural
sur
face properties such as diMerences in
structure, marks caused by growth and injury
or subtle colour diMerences. These surface
properties are characteristics of leather and
not material faults. Leather is also subject to
a natural ageing process during which the sur-
face properties change.
Waves or wrinkling in the seat cover may
occur due to the stress on the seat; this is
caused by the natural leather material.
Regular cleaning and care of the leather
reduces soiling, wear marks and ageing dam-
age and thus signiNcantly extends its life span. Clothing that can leave stains (e.g.
jeans) ma

y discolour the leather.

tyre
A Oat tyr
e severely aMects the driving charac-
teristics as well as the steering and braking of
the vehicle. Tyres without
r
un-Oat characteristics:
Do not drive with a Oat tyr
e.
Change the Oat tyr
e immediately with an
emergency spare wheel or spare wheel.
Alternatively, consult a qualiNed special-
ist workshop.
Tyres with r
un-Oat characteristics:
Observe the information and warning
no
tes on MOExtended tyres (run-Oat
tyres). In the event of a Oat
tyr
e, the following options are
available depending on your vehicle's equipment:
= Vehicles with MOExtended tyres: it is possible
to continue the journey for a short period of
time. Make sure you observe the notes on
MOExtended tyres (run-Oat tyres)
( page 321).
= Vehicles with a TIREFIT kit: you can seal the
tyre so that it is possible to continue the jour-
ney for a short period of time. To do this, use
the TIREFIT kit ( page 323). =
V
ehicles with Mercedes me connect: you can
make a call for breakdown assistance via the
overhead control panel in the case of a break-
down ( page 282).
= All vehicles: change the wheel ( page 350). Notes on MOExtended tyres
(r
un-Oat tyres) &
WARNING Risk of accident when dr
iving in
limp-home mode
Driving in emergency mode impairs the han-
dling c
haracteristics of the vehicle.
Do not exceed the permissible maximum
speed of t
he MOExtended tyres.
Avoid any abrupt steering and driving
manoeuvr
es as well as driving over
obstacles (kerbs, pot holes, oM-road).

Aser dr
iving in emergency mode, have
the rims checked by a qualiNed specialist
workshop with regard to their further
use.
The defective tyre must be replaced in
e

very case. With MOExtended tyres
(r
un-Oat tyres), you can
continue to drive your vehicle even if there is a
total loss of pressure in one or more tyres. How-
ever, the tyre aMected must not show any clearly
visible damage.
You can recognise MOExtended tyres by the
MOExtended marking which appears on the side
wall of the tyre.
Vehicles with tyre pressure loss warning system:
MOExtended tyres may only be used in conjunc-
tion with an activated tyre pressure loss warning
system. Vehicles with tyre pressure monitoring system:
MOExt

ended tyres may only be used in conjunc-
tion with an activated tyre pressure monitoring
system.
If a pressure loss warning message appears in the
driver's display, proceed as follows:
= Check the tyre for damage.
