WARNING Risk of injur y from fuels
Fuels are poisonous and hazardous to your
healt
h.
Do not swallow fuel or let it come into
cont

act with skin, eyes or clothing.
Do not inhale fuel vapour.
Keep children away from fuel.
Keep doors and windows closed during
t

he refuelling process.
If you or other people come into contact with
fuel, obser
ve the following:
Immediately rinse fuel oM y
our skin with
soap and water.
If fuel comes into contact with your eyes,
immediat
ely rinse them thoroughly with
clean water. Seek medical attention
immediately.
If you swallow fuel, seek medical atten-
tion immediat

ely. Do not induce vomit-
ing.
Change immediately out of clothing that
has come int
o contact with fuel. Flexible-fuel vehicles can be refuelled with the fol-
lo

wing fuel types:
= unleaded petrol
= E85 fuel
= a mixture of E85 fuel and unleaded petrol
Flexible-fuel vehicles can be identiNed by the
Ethanol up to E85 sticker on the inside of the fuel
Nller Oap.
Depending on the country, the fuels you can use
in your vehicle may diMer from the information in
the Owner's Manual. The fuels that have been
approved for your vehicle can be found on the
instruction label on the inside of the fuel Nller Oap. Fuel

e caused by the wrong fuel Even small amounts of the wrong fuel could
r

esult in damage to the fuel system, the
engine and the emission control system.
Only refuel using unleaded, sulphur-free
spar
k-ignition engine fuel that conforms
to European EN 228, or an equivalent
speciNcation.

cle can also be found on the information label on
the fuel Nller Oap ( page 171).
% Vehicles with M256 petrol engine: if y
ou are
using 95 RON, there may be slight limitations
in performance that have no further conse-
quences.
Refuel only with super unleaded petrol with an
oct
ane number of at least 98 RON if you wish to
achieve maximum engine output. Alternatively,
you can also refuel using premium-grade unlea-
ded petrol with an octane number of at least
95 RON. As a temporary measure, if the recommended fuel
is no
t available, you may also use regular unlea-
ded petrol with an octane number of at least
91 RON. This may reduce engine output and
increase fuel consumption.
Never refuel using petrol of an even lower RON.
Further information on fuel can be obtained at a
Nlling station or a qualiNed specialist workshop.
qInformation on additives in petrol (vehicles with
petrol engine)

otes on AdBlue
n
Observe the notes on operating Ouids
( page 362).
AdBlue n
is a water-soluble Ouid for the NOx
exhaust gas asertreatment of diesel engines.
It may be improper or punishable in some coun-
tries to operate a vehicle that uses no AdBlue n
or
one that does not comply with the speciNcations
of this Owner's Manual.
* NOTE Malfunctions due t
o the dilution of
AdBlue n
or the use of additive-enhanced
AdBlue n The function of the NOx exhaust gas
aser
-
treatment can be impaired by the use of
unsuitable denoxiNcation agents.
Only use AdBlue n
in accor
dance with
ISO 22241.
Do not dilute AdBlue n
wit
h water.
Do not use additive-enhanced AdBlue n

tions
Avoid impurities in AdBlue n
. AdBlue
n
r
esidues crystallise aser a period of
time, and contaminate the surfaces with which
they come into contact. Clean the dirty surfaces
with water as soon as possible.
When you open the AdBlue n
tank, small amounts
of ammonia vapour may escape. Do not inhale
any ammonia vapours that may be released. Only
