ECO Assistis active only in drive programs;andA.
System limitationsECO Assist can function more precisely iftheroute is maintained whenroute guidance isactive. The basic function is alsoavailable with‐out activeroute guidance.Notall informationand traffic situations can beforeseen. Thequal‐ity depends onthe map data.
ECO Assist is only an aid. The driver isresponsi‐bleforkeeping a safe distance fromthevehiclein front, forvehicle speed andfor braking ingood time. The driver must bereadytobrake atall times irrespective of whetherthe systemintervenes.
The system may be impaired or may not functioninthefollowing situations:
RIfthere is poor visibility, e.g. duetoinsuffi‐cient illumination oftheroad, highlyvariableshade conditions, rain, snow, fog or heavyspray.
RIfthere isglare, e.g. from oncoming traffic, direct sunlight orreflections.
RIfthere is dirt onthe windshield inthe vicin‐ity ofthe multifunction camera orthe cameraisfogged up, damaged or obscured.
RIfthe traffic signs are hardtodetect, e.g. duetodirt or snow or insufficient lighting, orbecausetheyare obscured.
RIfthe information onthe navigation system'sdigital map is incorrect or out of date.
RIfthe signs are ambiguous, e.g. traffic signsinroadworksor in adjacent lanes.

Rvehicles with a 48 V on-board electricalsystem (EQ Boosttechnology):the com‐bustion engine is switched off depending onthe driving situation. All ofthevehicle func‐tionsremain active.
Glide mode is activated ifthefollowing condi‐tions are met:
Rdrive program;is selected.
Rthe speed is within a suitablerange.
Rtheroad's course is suitable, e.g. nosteepuphill or downhill inclines or tight bends.
Ryou are no longer depressingthe acceleratoror brake pedal.
Glide mode can also be activated ifyou haveselectedthe "Eco" settingforthe drive inthedrive program=.
Glide mode is deactivated again if one oftheconditions is no longer met.
Glide mode can also be preventedbythefollow‐ing parameters:
