Theread out is per‐formed viathe legally prescribed portforthediagnostics connection inthevehicle. Therespective service network locations orthirdparties collect, process and usethe data. Fault memories inthevehicle can beresetby aservice outlet as part ofrepair or maintenancework.

Ifyou switchoffthe ignition while driving,safety functions arerestricted or no longeravailable. This may affectthe powersteeringsystem andthe brakeforce boosting,forexample.

Do not switch offthe ignition while driv‐ing.
\nDANGERRisk offatal injuries duetoexhaustgases
Combustion engines emit poisonousexhaustgases such as carbon monoxide. Inhalingtheseexhaustgases is hazardoustohealthand can leadtopoisoning.

If a criticalsituation is detected, symbol1appearsinthemultimedia system display.Ifthe driver does notrespondtothewarning,thevehicle's brakes canbe applied automatically.Todothis,the functionusestheradar sensors inthe bumper. The areaadjacenttothevehicle is continually monitored.
Iftheradar sensors are obstructedbyvehiclesorother objects, detection is not possible.
