If th eav ailable fuel is not su1ciently low in sul-
phur, this can produce unpleasant odours.
The recommended octane number foryo ur vehi-
cle can be found on the information label in the
fuel /ller 0ap (/ page 172).
E 350, E 450 4MA
E 350, E 450 4MA TIC:
TIC: Only refuel using super
unleaded petrol wi that least 98 RON if you wish
to achie vemaximum engine output. Alternativel y,
yo u can also refuel using premium-g rade unlea-
ded petrol with at least 95 RON.
All models: All models: As atemp orary measure, if there com-
mended fuel is not available, you may also refuel
wi th regular unleaded petrol with an octane num-
ber of at least 91 RON.This may reduce engine
output and increase fuel consumption.

ded byMercedes-Benz tothe fuel. Mercedes-Benz
recommends that you use brand-
name fuels with additives.
In some countries, the fuel available may not ha ve
su1cient additives. Residue could build up in the
fuel injection system as a result. In this case, in
consultation with a Mercedes-Benz service
centre, mix the fuel with the cleaning additive rec-
