high cornering speeds or high rates of acceler-

If yo u deactivate theAc tive Lane Keeping Assist
wa rning and the lane markings cannot be clear ly
de tected, it is possible that no lane-cor recting
brake application take s place (/ page 250).
The system may be impaired or may not function
particular lyin thefo llowing situations:
R Ifth ere is poor visibility, e.g. due toinsu1cient
illumination of thero ad, highly variable shade
conditions, rain, sno w,fog or heavy spr ay.
R Ifth ere is glare, e.g. from oncoming tra1c, the
sun or re0ections.
R Ifth e windscreen in the area of the multifunc-
tion camera is dirty, or if the camera is misted
up, damaged or co vered.
R Ifth ere are no lane markings, or se veral
unclear lane markings are present for one

The 360° Camera is a system that consists of
fo ur cameras which co verth e immediate sur-
ro undings of theve hicle. The system assists you
when you are parking or at exits with reduced visi-
bility, forex ample.
The vie wsofthe 360° Camera are alw aysav aila-
ble when driving forw ards up toa speed of
appr ox. 16 km/h and when reve rsing.
The 360° Camera is only an aid and may show a
distor ted view of obstacles, show them incor rectly
or not show them at all. It is not a substitute for
yo ur attention tothe sur roundings. The responsi-
bility for safe manoeuvring and parking remains
with you. Make sure that there are no persons, animals or objects
etc., in the manoeuvring area

Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC is an electronic par k-
ing assistance system which monitors the area
sur rounding your vehicle and sho wsyouth e dis-
ta nce between theve hicle and a de tected obs ta-
cle visual lyand audib ly.
Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC is only an aid. It is
not a substitute foryo ur attention tothe sur round- ings. The
responsibility for safe manoeuvring and
parking remains with you. Make sure that there
are no persons, animals or objects in the manoeu-
vring area while manoeuvring and parking in/exit-
ing parking spaces.
The passive side impact pr otection also warnsyou
of obstacles tothe side. During the parking proce-
dure or manoeuvring, objects are de tected as the
ve hicle drives past. If you steer in the direction of
a de tected obs tacle and there is a risk of a lateral
collision, a warning is issued. In order for an
object on the side tobe de tected, the sensors in
th e front and rear bumper must /r stdetect the
object while you are driving past it.
In order for front or rear obs tacles tothe side to
be displa yed, theve hicle must /r sttrave l a dis-
ta nce of at least half a vehicle length. Once the
ve hicle has tr avelled one vehicle length, obs tacles
on all sides can be shown. Display

When
Active Parking Assist is activated, the turn
signal indicators are activated based on the calcu-
lated path of your vehicle.
The parking procedu reis assisted byaccelerating,
braking, steering and gear changes.
Ac tive Parking Assist is only an aid. It is not a sub-
stitute foryo ur attention tothe sur roundings. The
re sponsibility for safe manoeuvring and parking
re mains with you. Make sure that no persons, ani-
mals or objects etc. are in the manoeuvring
ra nge.
Ac tive Parking Assist will be cancelled in thefo l-
lowing situations:
R Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is deactivated.
R You begin steering.

If th eex terior lighting is malfunctioning, Active
Pa rking Assist is not available.
Objects located abo veor below the de tection
ra nge of the sensors, e.g. overhanging loads,
ove rhangs or loading ramp s of goods vehicles, or
th e borders of parking spaces, are not de tected
during measurement of the parking space. These
are also then not take n into account when calcu-
lating the parking procedure. In some circumstan-
ces, Active Parking Assist may therefore guide
yo u into the parking space incor rectl y. &

tion range, thefo llowing situations may arise:
R Active Parking Assist may steer too ear ly.
R The vehicle may not stop in front of these
objects.
There is a danger of collision! #
Inthese situations, do not use Active
Pa rking Assist. Extreme
weather conditions, such as snow or
heavy rain, may lead toa parking space being
measured inaccuratel y.Pa rking spaces that are
partial lyoccupied bytrailer dr awbars might not be
identi/ed as such or be measured incor rectl y.
Only use Active Parking Assist on le vel, high-g rip
gr ound.
Do not use Active Parking Assist in thefo llowing
situations:
R Inextreme weather conditions such as ice,
pac ked snow or in heavy rain.
R When transporting a load that pr otru des
be yond theve hicle.
R On steep uphill or downhill gradients of more
th an appr oximately 15%.
R When snow chains are /tted.
R When a trailer or bicycle rack is attached.
R Directly aTer a tyre change or when spare
tyres are /tted.

% You can stop theve hicle and change the
transmission position during the parking pro-
cedure. The system then calculates a new
ve hicle path. If no new vehicle path is availa-
ble, the transmission position can be changed
again, or the process can be cancelled.

depress the accelerator pedal, the parking or exit-

Pay attention toove rhanging loads or

ailer Manoeuv ring Assist assists you when
re ve rsing with a trailer. Using there ve rsing cam-
era, it monitors the articulation angle between the
ve hicle and trailer and adjusts it toa speci/ed
va lue. Trailer Manoeuv ring Assist also limits your
speed.

directly via the multimedia system or use a
straightening manoeuvre. When car rying out a
straightening manoeuvre, the system calculates
th e articulation angle automatically and straight-
ens theve hicle/trailer combination tothe trailer's
cur rent direction.
