Select Seat Heating Balance .Adjust the heat distribution for the desired
seat.
Setting automatic seat adjustment
&WARNING Risk of becoming trapped dur-
ing adjustment of the driver\bs seat aser
calling up a driver proNle
Selecting a user proNle may trigger an adjust-
ment of the driver\bs seat to the position saved
under the user proNle. You or other vehicle
occupants could be injured in the process.
Make sure that when the position of driv-
er\bs seat is being adjusted using the mul-
timedia system, no people or body parts
are in the seat\bs range of movement.
If a person is in danger of becoming trapped,
immediately stop the adjustment process by:
a) Tapping the warning message on the
media display.
or
b) Pressing a position button of the memory function or a seat adjustment
switch in the driver\bs door.
The adjustment process is stopped.
Requirements
= Adapting the driver\bs seat position to body
size: automatic seat adjustment has been
switched on.

5 Automatic Seat Adjustment
Switching automatic seat adjustment on/oM
When the active user proNle is changed while the
vehicle is stationary, the driver\bs seat, outside mir-
rors and seat contour will automatically be adap-
ted to the driver.
Select On or Off.\bThis setting is available only for individual user
proNles. For the guest proNle, automatic seat
adjustment cannot be switched on or oM.
Adjusting the driver\bs seat position to body size
The vehicle will calculate a suitable driver\bs seat position on the basis of the driver\bs body size and
set this directly.
To set the unit of measurement: select cm or
ft/in .Set the size using the scale.Select Start Positioning .
The driver\bs seat position will be adjusted to
the body size that has been set.\bIf the driver\bs seat position calculated by the
vehicle is not practical or comfortable, it can
be changed manually at any time via the but- tons.
The exterior mirrors are not set via this func-
tion. Instead, they have to be set manually via

\bYou can also conNgure these settings via the
Mercedes me portal for your user proNle. By
synchronizing the proNles in the vehicle and
the Mercedes me connect proNles, you can
carry over these settings for your vehicle. Fur-
ther information about synchronizing user
proNles .
Setting the easy entry and exit feature
Activate or deactivate the function.\bIf you use an individual user proNle and have
set your body size, this information is carried over for the easy entry and exit feature. This
causes the driver\bs seat to automatically move
into the correct position .
Overview of massage programs
= Hot Relaxing Back Combination of heat and
massage. It starts by massaging the back. In addition, warm pressure points become
noticeable, starting in the pelvic area.
= Hot Relaxing Shoulder Combination of heat
and massage. It starts by massaging the
shoulders. In addition, warm pressure points
become noticeable, starting in the pelvic area.
= Activating Massage Activating massage pro-
gram with upward-moving relaxing waves.
= Classic Massage Calming back massage pro-
gram.
= Wave Massage Regenerating massage pro-
gram via relaxing waves across the back and in the seat cushion.
= Mobilizing Massage Mobilizing massage pro-
gram with upward-moving relaxing waves. Can
promote slower, deeper respiration. This can
improve the supply of oxygen to cells and the brain.
= Active Workout, Backrest and Active Work-
out, Cushion These programs require your
cooperation. Alternating between tensing and releasing helps to improve blood Oow to your
muscles. Press against a pressure point as

In particular, the health of persons with limited
temperature sensitivity or a limited ability to
react to high temperatures may be aMected or
they may even suMer burn-like injuries.Do not repeatedly switch on the seat
heating.To protect against overheating, the seat heating
may be temporarily deactivated aser it has been
switched on repeatedly.*NOTE Damage to the seats caused by
objects or documents when the seat heat-
ing is switched on
When the seat heating is switched on, over-
heating may occur due to objects or docu-
ments placed on the seats, e.g. seat cushions
or child seats. This could cause damage to the seat surface.
Make sure that no objects or documents
are on the seats when the seat heating is
switched on.Requirements: = The power supply is switched on.Press button 1 repeatedly until the desired
heating level is set.
Depending on the heating level, up to three
indicator lamps will light up. If all indicator
lamps are oM, the seat heating is switched oM.\bThe seat heating will automatically switch
down from the three heating levels aser 8, 10
and 20 minutes until the seat heating is

When the seat heater is switched on, the armrests and the center console can be heated.
Switch the function for the desired seats on or
oM.
Switching the seat ventilation on/oM
Requirements:
= The power supply is switched on.
Press button 1 repeatedly until the desired
blower setting has been reached.
Depending on the blower setting, up to three
indicator lamps will light up. If all indicator
lamps are oM, the seat ventilation is switched
oM.Folding bench seat in the cargo compartment
q Notes on the folding bench seat
&WARNING Risk of injury when the seat
backrest is not upright and locked in posi-
tion
The seat backrest of the folding bench seat may fold down while the vehicle is in motion.
In this case, the seat belts may not perform
their intended protective function.
Make sure that the seat backrests of the rear bench seat are locked in the upright
position.
Observe the notes on "Seat belts" (  page 42),
"Head restraints" (  page 96) and "Children in
the vehicle" (  page 52).
The folding bench seat is approved for use only
with child seats designed for children up to six
years old . Information on suitable child restraint
systems on the folding bench seat can be
obtained at an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center.

The folding bench seat may be used only when
the combined cargo cover and net is installed.
The tailgate can be opened from the folding bench seat. The switch is located on the wheelarch on the right-hand side when viewed in thedirection of travel.
q Folding out the folding bench seat
Requirements: = The seat backrests of the rear bench seat are
locked in the upright position.
= The handle for the combined luggage cover
and net has been moved up. To improve the
rear view, the upper part of the plate has been folded down.Pull release handle 1 and fold the seat back-
rest of the folding bench seat upwards.Hook the seat belts into retainers 3.Secure the seat belt buckles in the back of the
seat backrest.Pull release 2 and fold the seat cushion of
the folding bench seat into the seat position.Seats and stowing103

Push down the seat cushion until the seat
backrest engages fully.Fold the head restraints upwards.
q Folding back the folding bench seat
Pull the seat cushion upwards by tab 1 and
fold it back into its starting position until it
engages.*NOTE Damage to the folding bench seat
when folding back
The folding bench seat may be damaged when
it is folded back.
Fully insert the head restraints into the
guides.Make sure that the seat belt buckles
engages in their guides.Press release knob 3 and fold the head
restraints down.Press release knob 4 and push the head
restraints all the way in.Fold back seat backrest 2 of the folding
bench seat into its starting position.
q Opening/closing the cargo compartment Ooor
&WARNING Risk of injury due to an open
cargo compartment Ooor
If you drive with the cargo compartment Ooor
open, objects could be Oung around and hit
vehicle occupants as a result. There is a risk
of injury, particularly in the event of sudden
braking or a sudden change in direction.
Always close the cargo compartment Ooor before a journey.
Opening
Press the release knob in the middle of the
cargo compartment Ooor and turn it to the
OPEN position.104Seats and stowing

Pull the loop on the cargo compartment Ooor
and fold the cargo compartment Ooor up.\bWhen the seat cushion is removed
(  page 105), you can remove the cargo
compartment Ooor completely.
Closing
Re-insert the cargo compartment Ooor, if nec-
essary, and fold it down.Press the release knob and turn it to the CLOSE position.
q Removing or installing the seat cushion
If you want to open the cargo compartment Ooor
while the folding bench seat is folded back, you
must Nrst of all remove the seat cushion.
To remove: fold seat cushion 2 vertically
upwards and remove it from seat cushion
guide 1.InstallingPush seat cushion 2 into seat cushion guide
1 at a slight angle from the rear 3.Fold seat cushion 2 back into its starting
position 4 until it engages.Seats and stowing105

Steering wheel
Adjusting the steering wheel manually
&WARNING Risk of accident due to adjust-
ing the vehicle settings while the vehicle is
in motion
You could lose control of the vehicle in the fol-
lowing situations in particular:
= If you adjust the driver\bs seat, the head
restraint, the steering wheel or the mirror while the vehicle is in motion
= If you fasten your seat belt while the vehi-
cle is in motion
Before starting the vehicle: in particular,
adjust the driver\bs seat, head restraint,
steering wheel and mirror, and fasten
your seat belt.&WARNING Risk of entrapment for children
when adjusting the steering wheel
Children could injure themselves if they adjust
the steering wheel.
Never leave children unattended in the vehicle.When leaving the vehicle, always take the key with you and lock the vehicle.
Unlocking
Fold release lever 1 down as far as it will go.Adjust height 2 and distance 3 to the
steering wheel.
Locking
Fold release lever 1 up as far as it will go.Check and make sure that the steering col-
umn is locked by moving the steering wheel.
Adjusting the steering wheel electrically
The steering wheel can be adjusted when the power supply is disconnected.106Seats and stowing

Requirements:
= The power supply or the vehicle has been
switched on.
Turn the lever in the direction of arrow 1 or
2 .
If indicator lamp 3 lights up, the steering
wheel heater is switched on.When you switch the vehicle oM, the steering
wheel heater will switch oM.
Easy entry and exit feature
Using the easy entry and exit feature
&WARNING Risk of accident when pulling
away during the adjustment process of
the easy entry and exit feature
You could lose control of the vehicle.
Always wait until the adjustment process
is complete before driving oM.&WARNING Risk of becoming trapped when
adjusting the easy entry and exit feature
You and other vehicle occupants, particularly
children, may become trapped.
Make sure that no one has any part of
their body within the range of movement
of the steering wheel and driver\bs seat.Seats and stowing107

If there is a risk of becoming trapped by the
steering wheel:Move the steering wheel adjustment lever.
The adjustment process is stopped.
If there is a risk of becoming trapped by the driver\bs seat:
Press the switch for seat adjustment.
The adjustment process is stopped.Never leave children unattended in the vehicle.When leaving the vehicle, always take the key with you and lock the vehicle.Vehicles with memory function: you can stop the
adjustment process by pressing one of the mem-
ory function position switches.&WARNING Risk of becoming trapped if
children activate the easy entry and exit
feature
Children could become trapped if they acti- vate the easy entry and exit feature, particu-
larly when unattended.
Never leave children unattended in the vehicle.When leaving the vehicle, always take the key with you and lock the vehicle.
If the easy entry and exit feature is active, the
steering wheel will move upwards and the driver\bs
seat will move back in the following situations:
= You switch oM the vehicle when the driver\bs
door is open.
= You open the driver\bs door when the vehicle is
switched oM.
\bThe steering wheel will then move upwards
only if it is not already as high as it will go.
The driver\bs seat will then move backwards
only if it is not already at the rear of the seat
adjustment range.The steering wheel and the driver\bs seat will move
back to the last driving position in the following
cases:
= You switch the power supply or the vehicle on
when the driver\bs door is closed.
= You close the driver\bs door when the vehicle is
switched on.
The last drive position will be saved when: = You switch oM the vehicle.
= Vehicles with memory function: you call up the
seat settings via the memory function.
= Vehicles with memory function: you save the
seat settings via the memory function.
Vehicles with memory function: press one of the
memory function position switches to stop the
