If persons, particular lych ildren, are subjected
to prolonged exposure tointense heat or cold,
th ere is a risk of se vere injury or even death. #

dren, unattended in theve hicle. The
vehicle interior can be air conditioned when
th eve hicle is par ked. When
theve hicle is connected topowe r supply
equipment, priority is given tocharging the high-
vo ltage battery toa speci/ed minimum charge.
The running time of pre-entry clima tecont rol may
be reduced under thefo llowing conditions:
R The vehicle is not connected topowe r supply
equipment.
R The high-voltage battery is not charge d su1-
cient ly.

1 and swing the soc ket 0ap forw ards and
open.
The % indicator lamp 2and status dis-
play 3light up white. %
When theve hicle is star ted (the õdisplay
is lit in the Instrument Display), soc ket 0ap 1
cannot be opened. #
Press catch 7tothe leT and fold open
soc ket co ver5.

Tocharge at a mains soc ket, insert the mains
plug into the mains soc ket of theex tern al
po we r source tothe stop and set the maxi-

Insert thech arging cable connector into vehi-
cle soc ket connection 8tothe stop. If the
wa llbox/charging station is not equipped with
a ch arging cable, inse rtthe plug of theve hi-
cle's charging cable into thewa llbox/charging
station soc ketto the stop.
Make sure that thech arging cable is not taut
when inser ted. The
# indicator lamp 4and status dis-
play 30ash orange and, as soon as the high-
vo ltage battery is charge d, green.
% When thech arging sequence forth e ambient
lighting is activated, the ambient lighting lights
up for appr oximately 30 seconds as with the
# indicator lamp 4(/ page 133).
When thech arging cable is connected totheve hi-
cle, theve hicle cann otbe star ted or mo ved.
At the start of thech arging process, thech arge
le ve l display is shown in the Instrument Display
with a charging prediction. The charging predic-
tion either refers to the predicted charge leve l at
th e set departure time, or the time at which the
high- voltage battery will be fully charge d.
% When theve hicle is switched on, a lightning
symbol appears next tothech arge leve l dis-
play during thech arging process.
% Depending on thete mp erature, thefa n and
bat tery cooling system may audibly switch on

from the air. This lo wersthe boiling point of
th e brake 0uid. If the boiling point is too lo w,
