Two-way radios
q Notes on installing two-way radios
&WARNING Risk of accident due to
improper work on two-way radios
If two-way radios are manipulated or retroNt-
ted incorrectly, the electromagnetic radiation
from the two-way radios can interfere with the vehicle electronics and jeopardize the operat-
ing safety of the vehicle.
You should have all work on electrical
and electronic components carried out
at a qualiNed specialist workshop.&WARNING Risk of accident due to
improper operation of two-way radios
If you use two-way radios in the vehicle
improperly, their electromagnetic radiation
can disrupt the vehicle\bs electronics. This is
the case in the following situations, in particu-
lar:
= The two-way radio is not connected to an
exterior antenna.
= The exterior antenna is installed incor-
rectly or is not a low-reOection antenna.
This could jeopardize the operating safety of
the vehicle.
Have the low-reOection exterior antenna
installed at a qualiNed specialist work-
shop. When operating two-way radios in the
vehicle, always connect them to the low-
reOection exterior antenna.*NOTE Invalidation of the operating permit
due to failure to comply with the instruc-
tions for installation and use
The operating permit may be invalidated if the instructions for installation and use of two-wayradios are not observed.
Only use approved frequency bands.Observe the maximum permissible out-put power in these frequency bands.Only use approved antenna positions.Technical data399

The permissible gross vehicle weight is made up
of the vehicle weight, all vehicle occupants and the load. The maximum gross axle weight rating is
the maximum weight that can be carried on one axle (front or rear axle).
Do not exceed the maximum permissible grossvehicle weight or the maximum gross axle weight
rating for the front or rear axle.

Operating Ouids
Notes on operating Ouids
&WARNING Risk of injury from operating
Ouids harmful to your health
Operating Ouids may be poisonous and harm-
ful to your health.
Observe the text on the original contain- ers when using, storing or disposing of
operating Ouids.Always store operating Ouids sealed in
their original containers.Always keep children away from operat-
ing Ouids.+ENVIRONMENTAL NOTE Pollution of the
environment due to irresponsible disposal
of operating Ouids
Incorrect disposal of operating Ouids can
cause considerable damage to the environ- ment.
Dispose of operating Ouids in an environ-
mentally responsible manner.
Operating Ouids include the following:
= lubricants
= coolant
= brake Ouid
= windshield cleaning agent
=climate control system refrigerant
Only use products approved by Mercedes-Benz.
Damage caused by the use of products that have not been approved for the vehicle is not covered
by the Mercedes-Benz warranty or goodwill ges- tures.
You can identify operating Ouids approved by
Mercedes-Benz by the following inscriptions on
the container:
= MB-Freigabe (e.g. MB-Freigabe 229.51)
= MB-Approval (e.g. MB-Approval 229.51)
Further information on approved operating Ouids
is available at the following locations:
= in the Mercedes-Benz SpeciNcations for Oper-
ating Fluids by entering the designation
- at https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com
- in the Mercedes-Benz BeVo App
= at a qualiNed specialist workshopTechnical data403

Notes on brake Ouid
Observe the notes on operating Ouids
( page 403).
&WARNING Risk of an accident due to
vapor pockets forming in the brake system
The brake Ouid constantly absorbs moisture
from the air. This lowers the boiling point of
the brake Ouid. If the boiling point is too low,
vapor pockets may form in the brake system when the brakes are applied hard.
This causes the braking eMect to be impaired.
Have the brake Ouid renewed at the
speciNed intervals.Have the brake Ouid regularly replaced at a quali-
Ned specialist workshop.
Only use a brake Ouid approved by Mercedes-
Benz according to MB-Freigabe or MB-Approval 331.0.

Observe the notes on operating Ouids
( page 403).
&WARNING Risk of Nre and injury from
windshield washer concentrate
Windshield washer concentrate is highly Oam-
mable. If it comes into contact with hot com-
ponents, it may ignite.
Make sure that windshield washer con-
centrate is not spilled near to the Nller
opening.*NOTE Damage to the exterior lighting due
to unsuitable windshield washer Ouid
Unsuitable windshield washer Ouid may dam-
age the plastic surface of the exterior lighting.
Only use windshield washer Ouid which is
also suitable for use on plastic surfaces,
e.g. MB SummerFit or MB WinterFit.*NOTE Blocked spray nozzles caused by
mixing windshield washer OuidsDo not mix MB SummerFit and MB Win-
terFit with other windshield washer Ou-
ids.
Do not use distilled or de-ionised water. Other- wise, the Nll level sensor may be triggered errone-
ously.
Recommended windshield washer Ouid:
= Above freezing point: e.g. MB SummerFit
= Below freezing point: e.g. MB WinterFit
For the correct mixing ratio, refer to the informa-
tion on the antifreeze container.
Mix washing water with windshield washer Ouid all
year round.
