touse the easy entry and exitfeature, the
automatic seat adjustment function must ha ve
been switched on (/ page 116).
When the easy entry and exitfeature is active, the
stee ring wheel and driver's seat will mo veas fol-
lo ws:
R The steering wheel will mo veupwards.
R The driver's seat will mo veforw ard or bac k-
wa rdtoa seat position suitable forget ting out
of theve hicle.
This will occur in thefo llowing situations:
R You switch o. theve hicle when the driver's
door is open.
R You open the driver's door when theve hicle is
switched o..
% The steering wheel will then mo veupwards
only if it is not already as high as it will go. The driver's seat will
then mo vebackwards
only if it is not already at there ar of the seat
adjustment range.
The steering wheel and the driver's seat will mo ve
back tothe last driving position in thefo llowing
cases:
R You switch the po wer supply or theve hicle on
when the driver's door is closed
R You close the driver's door when theve hicle is
switched on.
The last driving position will be sa ved when:
R You switch o. theve hicle.

The driving characteristics of your vehicle are
dependent on the distribution of the load within
th eve hicle. You should bear thefo llowing in mind
when loading theve hicle:
R neverex ceed the permissible gross mass or
th e permissible axle loads forth eve hicle
(including occupants).

the load must not pr otru de abo vethe upper
edge of the seat backrests.
R always place the load behind unoccupied
seats if possible.
R secure the load using the tie-down eyes and
distribute the load evenl y.

R Evenly dist ribute thero of load, and place
heavy objects at the bottom. Also comply with
th e no tes on loading theve hicle.
R Drive attentivel y,and avoid suddenly pulling
awa y,braking and steering as well as rapid
cornering.
R When transporting roof loads and when the
ve hicle is fully loaded or fully occupied, select
drive prog rams ; andA. These are

When you adjust a seat, you may trap yourself
or a vehicle occupant. #
When adjusting a seat, make sure that
no one has any body parts in the sweep
of the seat. &

th e seat backrest is not engaged
The seat backrest may fold forw ards. There is a
risk of thefo llowing, in particular:
R The vehicle occupant may be pressed
against the seat belt. The seat belt cannot
pr otect as intended and could cause addi-
tional injur y.
R Ach ild restraint system is no longer prop-
er ly suppor ted or proper lypositioned and
may no longer ful/l its function as inten-
ded.
R The seat backrest cannot restrain objects
or goods in the boot or load compartment.
Alw ays ensu rethat the seat backrest is
engaged, especiall y:
R ATer the seat has been adjusted.
R ATer the load compartment enlar gement
has been folded forw ards Make sure
that there d marking of the lock veri/-
cation indicator is no lon ger visible. Otherwise,
th e seat backrest will not be loc ked.
