he dashcam functions.
The legal requirements relating to operation
and use of the dashcam can vary depending
on the country in which the dashcam is oper-
ated.
This function is not permitted in all countries. 
Before using the dashcam, inform your-
self about t
he content of the legal regu-
lations, in particular the data protection
regulations in the respective country of
use. 
Observe the legal regulations, in particu-
lar t

he data protection regulations. %
To ensure secure operation, only use FAT32
or e

xFAT formatted USB storage devices.
% The Nle size and t
herefore the duration of sin-
gle recording is limited by the limitations of
the USB Oash drive format. So FAT32 format-
ted USB Oash drives do not allow Nles larger
than 4 GB, for example.
When the Nle size is reached, the recording
stops and you receive a notiNcation.

To select a recording mode: select Loop
recording or Individual recording .
Loop recording r
ecords several short video
Nles. When the memory is full, recording is
continued automatically. In doing so, other
Nles will be overwritten starting with the oldest
Nle.
Individual recording stops recording when the
memory limit is reached. An individual record-
ing is automatically protected against being
overwritten. 
To start: select Start recording.
The lengt
h of the recording is shown. The Do
not remove the storage medium during
recording. Before removing the storage
medium, eject it first. message appears. The
video Nle is stored on the USB device. 
To end: select End recording .
% In some countries, geo-coordinates (longitude
and latitude) ar

e shown in the video image.
For technical reasons, the geo-coordinates
may show greater inaccuracies. A report may appear in the following cases:
= Individual recording : t

he memory is full or
there are only a few minutes recording time
available. The video recording stops or will be
stopped imminently.
Change the USB device or delete a video Nle.
= The camera is not functional, the Camera
unavailable message appears.
Have the camera checked in a Mercedes-Benz
service centre.
= If the country border indication has been
switched on.
= If an outdoor recording is started with the
camera app during a dashcam recording, the
dashcam recording pauses and resumes auto-
matically aser the camera recording is Nn-

If you operate communication equipment inte-

rated in the vehicle when driving, you could
be distracted from the traPc situation. This
could also cause you to lose control of the
vehicle. 
Only operate this equipment when the
tr

aPc situation permits. 
If you cannot be sure of this, stop the
v
ehicle whilst paying attention to road
and traPc conditions and operate the
equipment with the vehicle stationary. MBUX multimedia system

Mobile communication devices distract the

cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

vices only in the designa-
ted area, e.g. in the rear passenger com-
partment. You must observe the legal requirements for the

y in which you are currently driving when
operating mobile communication equipment in
the vehicle. &

being stowed incorrectly
If objects in the vehicle interior are stowed
incor
rectly, they can slide or be thrown around and hit vehicle occupants. In addition, cup
holder

s, open stowage spaces and mobile
phone receptacles cannot always retain all
objects within.
There is a risk of injury, particularly in the
event of sudden braking or a sudden change
in direction. 
Always stow objects so that they cannot
be t
hrown around in such situations. 
Always make sure that objects do not
pr

otrude from stowage spaces, luggage
nets or stowage nets. 
Close the lockable stowage spaces

ore starting a journey. 
Always stow and secure heavy, hard,
point
ed, sharp-edged, fragile or bulky

- The contacts on the mobile phone are
shown automatically on the multimedia
system.
= MAP (Message Access ProNle)
- The mobile phone message functions can
be used on the multimedia system.
= HFP (hands-free proNle)
- Wireless telephony is available on the mul-
timedia system.
= SAP (SIM Access ProNle)
- The car telephone has access to the SIM
card data and dials into the mobile phone
network via the exterior aerial.
Irrespective of this, Bluetooth n
audio functionality
can by used with any mobile radio unit. 372

Network connection:
The following cases can lead to the call being dis-
connected while the vehicle is in motion:
= You switch into a transmission/reception sta-
tion, in which no communication channel is
free.
= The SIM card used is not compatible with the
network available
= A mobile phone with "Twincard" is logged into
the network with the second SIM card at the
same time
The multimedia system supports calls in HD
Voice n
for improved speech quality. A require-
ment for this is that the mobile phone and the
mobile phone network provider of the person you
are calling support HD Voice n
.
Depending on the quality of the connection, the
voice quality may Ouctuate. Further information can be obtained from a

Telephony operating modes overview
Depending on y our equipment, the following tel-

A call to the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre has
been initiated via the me button in the overhead
control panel or the multimedia system
(  page 374).
Using the voice dialogue system you access the
desired service:

using the multimedia system
Requirements: = Access to a GSM network is available.
= The contract partner's GSM network coverage
is available in the respective region.
= The vehicle must be switched on so that vehi-
cle data can be transferred automatically.

t o a specialist at the Mercedes-Benz Customer
Centre.
Calling the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre aser
automatic accident or breakdown detection
Requirements: = The vehicle has detected an accident or break-
down situation.
= The vehicle is stationary.
= The hazard warning lights are switched on.
% This function is not available in all countries.
The vehicle can detect accident or breakdown sit-
uations under cer
tain circumstances.
Requirements for collision detection in the con-
text of accident management:
= The vehicle is equipped with an anti-thes
alarm system (ATA) (code 551).
= The vehicle is equipped with the interior pro-
tection (code 882).
= The vehicle is equipped with the Anti-Thes
Protection Package (code P54). =
The collision de
tection service with thes notiN-
cation has been activated on Mercedes me
connect.
If a collision is detected when the tow-away pro-
tection is primed on a locked vehicle, you will
receive a notiNcation in the multimedia system
when you switch the vehicle on.
Find out at a Mercedes-Benz service centre if this
functions is available in your country.
In the event an accident or breakdown is detec-
ted, the emergency guide shows safety notes in
the multimedia system display. This may take a
few seconds.
% The availability of collision detection depends
on t
he vehicle.

whether you would like to get support from the
Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre.

omatic emergency call can be initiated.
This has priority over all other active calls
(  page 386).
% In addition, if the Mercedes me connect

vice "Telediagnostics" is active, a similar
prompt can appear aser a delay in the event
of a breakdown. If you are already in contact
with the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre or
have already received support, this prompt
can be ignored or declined.
% If you answer the prompt for support from the
Mer
cedes-Benz Customer Centre with Call
later, the message will be hidden and appear

The prompt triggered by the Mercedes me
connect ser vice "Telediagnostics", can either
be conNrmed or declined. Aser being
declined, this will not be shown again.
Arranging a service appointment via a Mercedes
me call
If y

ou have activated the maintenance manage-
ment service, relevant vehicle data is transferred
automatically to the Mercedes-Benz Customer
Centre. You will then receive individual recom-
mendations regarding the maintenance of your
vehicle.
Regardless of whether you have consented to the
maintenance management service, the multime-
dia system reminds you aser a certain amount of
time that a service is due. A prompt appears ask-
ing if you would like to make an appointment. 
To arrange a service appointment: select Call.

our agreement, the vehicle data is
transferred and the Mercedes-Benz customer
centre takes your preferred appointment date.
The information is then sent to your desired
service outlet. This will contact you to
conNr
m the appoint-
ment and if necessary consult about the
details.

reappears at a later time.

Data transferred during a Mercedes me call
If you initiate a service call using Mercedes me,
data is transferred to enable targeted advice and
an ePcient service.
The following requirements must be fulNlled for
the transfer of the data:
= The vehicle is switched on.
= The required data transfer technology is sup-
ported by the mobile phone network provider.
= The quality of the mobile connection is suP-
