The tire inOation compressor is switched on.
The tire is inOated. The tire pressure appears
on manometer 5.Pump the tire to the speciNed tire pressure.\bThe speciNed tire pressure is stated on the
label of the emergency spare wheel.When the speciNed tire pressure has been
reached, press on and oM switch 4 on the
tire inOation compressor to 0.
The tire inOation compressor is switched oM.Press the start/stop button to switch oM the
power supply.If the tire pressure is higher than the speciNed
pressure, press pressure release valve button
6 until the correct tire pressure has been
reached.Unscrew union nut 2 of Nller hose 1 from
the valve.Screw the valve cap of the emergency spare
wheel onto the valve again.Stow Nller hose 1 and plug 3 in the lower
section of the tire inOation compressor hous-
ing.Stow the tire inOation compressor in the vehi-

Two-way radios
q Notes on installing two-way radios
&WARNING Risk of accident due to
improper work on two-way radios
If two-way radios are manipulated or retroNt-
ted incorrectly, the electromagnetic radiation
from the two-way radios can interfere with the vehicle electronics and jeopardize the operat-
ing safety of the vehicle.
You should have all work on electrical
and electronic components carried out
at a qualiNed specialist workshop.&WARNING Risk of accident due to
improper operation of two-way radios
If you use two-way radios in the vehicle
improperly, their electromagnetic radiation
can disrupt the vehicle\bs electronics. This is
the case in the following situations, in particu-
lar:
= The two-way radio is not connected to an
exterior antenna.
= The exterior antenna is installed incor-
rectly or is not a low-reOection antenna.
This could jeopardize the operating safety of
the vehicle.
Have the low-reOection exterior antenna
installed at a qualiNed specialist work-
shop.When operating two-way radios in the
vehicle, always connect them to the low-
reOection exterior antenna.*NOTE Invalidation of the operating permit
due to failure to comply with the instruc-
tions for installation and use
The operating permit may be invalidated if the instructions for installation and use of two-wayradios are not observed.
Only use approved frequency bands.Observe the maximum permissible out-put power in these frequency bands.Only use approved antenna positions.350Technical data

sliding panel, installing an antenna to the front or rear roof area is not permitted.
On the rear fenders, it is recommended that you
install the antenna on the side of the vehicle clos- est to the center of the road.

The following can be used in the vehicle without
restrictions:
= two-way radios with a maximum transmission
output of up to 100 mW
= RF transmitters with transmitter frequencies in
the 380 - 410 MHz frequency band and a
maximum transmission output of up to 2 W
(TETRA)
= mobile phones (2G/3G/4G)
There are no restrictions when positioning the
antenna on the outside of the vehicle for the fol-
lowing frequency bands:
= Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA)

The maximum permissible gross vehicle weight is
made up of the vehicle weight, all vehicle occu-
pants, the fuel and the load. The maximum gross
axle weight rating is the maximum weight that can be carried on one axle (front or rear axle).
Do not exceed the maximum permissible gross
vehicle weight or the maximum gross axle weight
rating for the front or rear axle.

operating Ouids, observe the imprints on

Always keep operating Ouids in the
sealed original container.Always keep children away from operat-
ing Ouids.+ENVIRONMENTAL NOTE Pollution of the
environment due to irresponsible disposal
of operating Ouids
Incorrect disposal of operating Ouids can
cause considerable damage to the environ- ment.
Dispose of operating Ouids in an environ-
mentally responsible manner.
Operating Ouids include the following:
= Fuels
= Lubricants
= Coolant
= Brake Ouid
= Windshield washer Ouid
= Climate control system refrigerant
Only use products approved by Mercedes-Benz.
Damage caused by the use of products that have not been approved is not covered by the
Mercedes-Benz warranty or goodwill gestures.
The operating Ouids approved by Mercedes-Benz
can be identiNed by the following inscriptions on
the container:
= MB-Freigabe (e.g. MB-Freigabe 229.51)
= MB-Approval (e.g. MB-Approval 229.51)

Fuels are highly Oammable.
Fire, open Oames, smoking and creating
sparks must be avoided.Before and during refueling, switch oM
the vehicle and, if installed, the station- ary heater.&WARNING Risk of injury from fuels
Fuels are poisonous and hazardous to your
health.
Do not swallow fuel or let it come into
contact with skin, eyes or clothing.Do not inhale fuel vapor.Keep children away from fuel.Keep doors and windows closed during
the refueling process.
If you or other people come into contact with
fuel, observe the following:
Immediately rinse fuel oM your skin with
soap and water.If fuel comes into contact with your eyes, immediately rinse them thoroughly with
clean water. Seek medical attention

If you swallow fuel, seek medical atten-
tion immediately. Do not induce vomit-
ing.Change immediately out of clothing that has come into contact with fuel.Flexible-fuel vehicles can be refueled with the fol-lowing fuel types:
= premium-grade unleaded gasoline
= E85 fuel
= a mixture of E85 fuel and premium-grade
unleaded gasoline
Flexible-fuel vehicles can be identiNed by the
Ethanol up to E85 sticker on the inside of the fuel
Nller Oap.
Depending on the country, the fuels you can use in your vehicle may diMer from the information in
the Operator\bs Manual. The fuels that have been
approved for your vehicle can be found on the
instruction label on the inside of the fuel Nller Oap.Fuel

oline engine
Observe the instructions about operating Ouids
(  page 353).
*NOTE Damage caused by the wrong fuel
Even small amounts of the wrong fuel could
result in damage to the fuel system, the
engine and the emission control system.
Only refuel with low-sulfur spark-ignition
engine fuel.
This fuel may contain up to 10% ethanol by vol- ume. Your vehicle is suitable for use with E10 fuel.
Never refuel with one of the following fuels: = diesel
= Gasoline with more than 10% ethanol by
volume, e.g. E15, E85, E100
= Gasoline with more than 3% methanol by
volume, e.g. M15, M30, M85, M100
= Gasoline with additives containing metal
If you have accidentally refueled with the
wrong fuel:Do not switch on the vehicle.Consult a qualiNed specialist workshop.
If the available fuel is not suPciently low in sulfur,
it may produce unpleasant odors.
Only refuel with fuel that has at least the octane number speciNed in the information label on the
fuel Nller Oap. Otherwise, engine output may be
reduced and fuel consumption increased.
For maximum engine output: Only refuel using
premium-grade unleaded gasoline with at least
91 AKI/95 RON.
If the recommended fuel is not available, you may also temporarily use regular unleaded gasoline
with an octane number of at least 87 AKI/
91 RON. This may reduce engine output and
increase fuel consumption.
Never refuel using gasoline with an even lower
RON.

Impairment of the longevity and performance
of the engine.
If unleaded premium grade gasoline is unavail- able and you have to refuel using unleaded
regular gasoline:
Only Nll the fuel tank to half full with
unleaded regular gasoline and reNll as
soon as possible with unleaded premium
grade gasoline.Do not drive at the maximum design speed.Avoid sudden acceleration and engine
speeds over 3000 rpm.

Even small amounts of the wrong additive may
lead to malfunctions occurring.
Only add cleaning additives recommen-
ded by Mercedes-Benz to the fuel.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use brand-
name fuels with additives.
In some countries, the fuel available may not have
suPcient additives. Deposits could build up in the
fuel injection system as a result. In this case, in consultation with a qualiNed specialist workshop
(e.g. an authorized Mercedes-Benz Service Cen- ter), mix the fuel with the cleaning additive recom-
mended by Mercedes-Benz. Observe the notes and mixing ratios indicated on the tank.

&WARNING Risk of an accident due to
vapor pockets forming in the brake system
The brake Ouid constantly absorbs moisture
from the air. This lowers the boiling point of
the brake Ouid. If the boiling point is too low,
vapor pockets may form in the brake system when the brakes are applied hard.
This causes the braking eMect to be impaired.
Have the brake Ouid renewed at the
