head r estraint. If the seats on the third row of
seats are being used, the head restraint must be
in the top, engaged usage position. 
If the third row of seats is occupied: mo
ve the
head restraints to the very top and have them
engage there. 
If the third row of seats is not occupied: mo
ve
the head restraints to the very bottom.
Fitting/removing the rear seat head restraints
R
emoving
Depending on the vehicle equipment, you can
remove the head restraints in the rear. 
Release the rear seat backrest and fold it for-
w
ards slightly (  page 130). 
Pull the head restraint upwards as far as it will
go. 
Push release knob 1 in t
he direction of the
arrow and pull out the head restraint. Installing 
Insert the head restraint such that the notches
on t
he bar are on the les when viewed in the
direction of travel. 
Push the head restraint down until it engages. 
Fold the rear seat backrest back until it
eng
ages.

Selecting a user pr
oNle may trigger an adjust-
ment of the driver's seat to the position saved
under the user proNle. You or other vehicle
occupants could be injured in the process. 
Make sure that when the position of the
dr
iver's seat is being adjusted via the
multimedia system, no people or body
parts are in the seat's range of move-
ment.
If there is a risk of someone becoming trap-
ped, s
top the adjustment process immedi-
ately: 
a) Tap the warning message on the
media displa
y.
or 
b) Press a memory function position but-
t

on or a seat adjustment switch on the
driver's door.
The adjustment process will be stopped. Requirements:

Switching automatic seat adjustment on/oM
When the active user proNle is changed while the
vehicle is stationary, the driver's seat, steering
wheel, outside mirrors and seat contour will auto-
matically be adapted to the driver. 
Select On or Off .
% This setting is available only for individual user
pr
oNles. For the guest proNle, automatic seat
adjustment cannot be switched on or oM. Seats and stowing

Adjusting driver's seat and steering wheel position
t o body size
The vehicle calculates a suitable driver's seat and
steering wheel position on the basis of the driver's
body size and sets this directly. 
To set the unit of measurement: select cm or
ft/in . 
Set the size using the scale. 
Select Start positioning .
The dr
iver's seat and steering wheel position
is adjusted to the body size that has been set.
% If the driver's seat and steering wheel position
calculat
ed by the vehicle is not practical or
comfortable, it can be manually changed at
any time via the buttons.
The exterior mirrors are not set via this func-
tion. Instead, they have to be set manually via
the switches.
% You can also conNgur
e these settings via the
Mercedes me portal for your user proNle. By
synchronising the proNles in the vehicle and
the Mercedes me connect proNles, you can
carry over these settings for your vehicle. Setting the easy entry and exit feature

The driver's seat backrest will then move for-
w ards only if it is not already in the frontmost
position.
The steering wheel and the driver's seat will move
bac
k to the last driving position in the following
cases:
= You switch the power supply or the vehicle on
when the driver's door is closed.
= You close the driver's door when the vehicle is
switched on.
The last drive position will be saved when: = If you switch oM the vehicle.
= Vehicles with memory function: you call up the
seat settings via the memory function.
= Vehicles with memory function: you save the
seat settings via the memory function.
