= Do not use polish on matt decorative foil. Pol-
ishing will have the eMect of shining the foil-
wrapped surface.
= Do not treat matt or structured decorative
foils with wax. Permanent stains may occur.
Scratches, corrosive deposits, areas aMected by
corrosion and damage caused by incorrect care
cannot always be completely repaired. In this
case, contact a qualiNed specialist workshop.
You can obtain more information on care and
cleaning agents from the manufacturer.
In the case of foil-wrapped surfaces, optical diMer-
ences may occur between the surfaces that were
not protected by a decorative foil aser removing a
decorative foil.

WARNING Risk of entr
apment if the wind-
screen wipers are switched on while the
windscreen is being cleaned
If the windscreen wipers are set in motion
while y
ou are cleaning the windscreen or
wiper blades, you can be trapped by the wiper
arm.
Always switch oM t
he windscreen wipers
and the vehicle before cleaning the wind-
screen or wiper blades. To avoid damage to the vehicle, observe the notes
on cleaning and car

e of the following car parts:
Wheels and rims
= Use water and acid-free alloy wheel cleaners.
= Do not use acidic alloy wheel cleaners to
remove brake dust. This could damage wheel
bolts and brake components.
= To avoid corrosion of the brake disks and
brakepads, drive the vehicle for a few minutes
aser cleaning before parking it. The brake
disks and brakepads warm up and dry out. Windows
=
Clean t

the vehicle with wax, clean the windscreen
thoroughly with cleaning agents recommen-

application instructions may result in damage,
smear marks or dazzling spots.
% Remove external fogging or dirt on the wind-
scr

een in front of the multifunction camera.
Otherwise, driving systems and driving safety
systems may be impaired or not available
( page 250).

WARNING Risk of injur
y from plastic parts
breaking oM aser the use of solvent-based
care products
Care and cleaning products containing sol-
v
ents can cause surfaces in the cockpit to
become porous. When the airbags are
deployed, plastic parts may break away.
Do not use any care or cleaning products
cont

aining solvents to clean the cockpit. &
WARNING Risk of injur
y or fatal injuries
from bleached seat belts
Bleaching or dyeing seat belts can severely
w
eaken them.
This can, for example, cause seat belts to tear
or fail in an accident.
Never bleach or dye seat belts. 400

span. Clothing that can leave stains (e.g.
jeans) can discolour the leather.

block a depressed pedal.
This jeopardises the operating and road safety
of the vehicle.
The Nre extinguisher can be Oung around and
injure the driver or other vehicle occupants.

Tyres without
r un-Oat characteristics:
Do not drive with a Oat tyr
e.
Change the Oat tyr
e immediately with an
emergency spare wheel or spare wheel.
Alternatively, consult a qualiNed special-
ist workshop.
Tyres with r
un-Oat characteristics:
Observe the information and warning
no
tes on MOExtended tyres (run-Oat
tyres). In the event of a Oat
tyr
e, the following options are
available depending on your vehicle's equipment:
= Vehicles with MOExtended tyres: it is possible
to continue the journey for a short period of
time. Make sure you observe the notes on
MOExtended tyres (run-Oat tyres)
( page 406).
= Vehicles with a TIREFIT kit: you can repair the
tyre so that it is possible to continue the jour-
ney for a short period of time. To do this, use
the TIREFIT kit ( page 408). =
V
ehicles with Mercedes me connect: you can
make a call for breakdown assistance via the
overhead control panel in the case of a break-
down ( page 362).
= All vehicles: change the wheel ( page 436). Notes on MOExtended tyres
(r
un-Oat tyres) &
WARNING Risk of accident when dr
iving in
limp-home mode
Driving in emergency mode impairs the han-
dling c
haracteristics of the vehicle.
Do not exceed the permissible maximum
speed of t
he MOExtended tyres.
Avoid any abrupt steering and driving
manoeuvr
es as well as driving over
obstacles (kerbs, pot holes, oM-road).
This applies, in particular, to a loaded
vehicle.
Stop driving in the emergency mode if
y

ou notice:
= banging noise =
v
ehicle vibration
= smoke which smells like rubber
= continuous ESP n
intervention
= cracks in the tyre sidewalls
Aser dr
iving in emergency mode, have
the rims checked by a qualiNed specialist
workshop with regard to their further
use.
The defective tyre must be replaced in
e

very case. With MOExtended tyres
(r
un-Oat tyres), you can
continue to drive your vehicle even if there is a
total loss of pressure in one or more tyres. How-
ever, the tyre aMected must not show any clearly
visible damage.
You can recognise MOExtended tyres by the
MOExtended marking which appears on the side
wall of the tyre.
Vehicles with tyre pressure monitoring system:
MOExtended tyres may only be used in conjunc-
tion with an activated tyre pressure monitoring
system. 406

If a pressure loss warning message appears in the
dr iver's display, proceed as follows:
= Check the tyre for damage.
= If driving on, observe the following notes.

ble in emer
gency mode
Partially laden 80 km
Fully laden 30 kmThe driving distance possible in emergency mode
ma
