Make sure that the folding tables are fol-
ded in when moving the front seats
back.
Folding out
This equipment is available only for Mercedes-
Maybach vehicles.
Open rear armrest 1.Pull the folding table forwards and upwards by
recess 2 or 3 and swing outwards.Fold the table panels apart.To fold in: fold the table panels together and
swing in the folding table.Opening the stowage box in the backrest in the
rear compartment*NOTE Damage to the rear armrest due to
body weight
When folded out, the rear armrest can be
damaged by body weight.
Do not sit or support yourself on the rear
seat armrest.
This equipment is available only for Mercedes-
Maybach vehicles.
Vehicles with individual seats (example)
Vehicles with 5-seater variant: fold down the

Removing the handset from the storage compart-
ment in the rear passenger compartment
Opening the drawer
This equipment is available only for Mercedes-
Maybach vehicles with individual rear seats.
Vehicles with individual rear seats
Press button 1.Remove the handset.
Closing the drawer
Place the handset in the drawer.Press the handset drawer back until it
engages.

Folding the rear seat backrest forwards
&WARNING Risk of becoming trapped when
adjusting the seats
When you adjust a seat, you may trap yourself
or a vehicle occupant.
When adjusting a seat, make sure that no one has any body parts in the sweep
of the seat.&WARNING Risk of accident if the seat and
seat backrest are not engaged
The seat and seat backrest can fold forwards.
There is a risk of the following, in particular:
= The vehicle occupant may be pressed
against the seat belt. The seat belt cannot
protect as intended and could cause addi- tional injury.
= A child restraint system will no longer be
properly supported or positioned and will
no longer fulNll its function as intended.
= The seat backrest will not be able restrain
objects or goods in the cargo compart-
ment.
Always ensure that the seat and seat backrest
are engaged, in particular:
= Before persons travel in the vehicle while
sitting on a seat with the easy entry and exit feature
= Aser the seat has been adjusted.
= Aser the easy entry and exit feature has
been used
= Aser the cargo compartment enlargement

Always ensure that all vehicle occupants have
their seat belts fastened correctly and are sitting
properly. Particular attention must be paid to chil- dren.
If you no longer require the folded-down rear seat
backrest as a load area, fold the backrest back into place.
Make sure that the red marking of the lock veriN-
cation indicator is no longer visible. Otherwise,
the seat backrest is not locked.
Requirements: = Vehicles with a center seat backrest: the cen-
ter seat backrest is not in the cargo compart-
ment Ooor position.
= Vehicles with a folding rear armrest: the rear
armrest has been folded up.
Seven-seater (example)
To fold the les or right seat backrest for-
wards: brieOy press one of buttons 1.
The head restraint on the seat backrest will
move into a suitable position. The rear seat
will fold forwards.
Vehicles with a center seat backrest: the cen-
ter seat backrest will fold forwards together with the les seat backrest.If a seat in the second row of seats is not engaged
and locked, this will be shown on the multifunc- tion display on the instrument cluster.\bSeven-seaters: all seat backrests can be fol-
ded forwards together using the ALL button.

Folding back the rear seat backrest
*NOTE Damage caused by trapping the
seat belt when folding back the seat back- rest
The seat belt could become trapped and thus
damaged when the seat backrest is folded
back.
Make sure that the seat belt is not trap-
ped when folding back the seat backrest.
Seven-seater (example)
To fold back the seat backrest: brieOy pull one
of buttons 1.
The rear seat will fold back.
Vehicles with a center seat backrest: the cen-
ter seat backrest will fold back together with
the les seat backrest.If a seat backrest is not engaged and locked,
this will be shown on the multifunction display on the instrument cluster.\bSeven-seaters: all seat backrests can be fol-
ded back together using the ALL button.
Folding back the center seat backrest
If only the center seat backrest in the rear
passenger compartment has been folded
forward separately: swivel the seat backrest

Notes on the cargo compartment cover
&WARNING Risk of injury or death due to
poorly secured objects
The cargo compartment cover alone cannot
secure or restrain heavy objects, items of lug-
gage or heavy loads.
You could be hit by an unsecured load, partic-
ularly in the event of abrupt changes in direc-
tion, sudden braking or an accident.
Always stow objects in such a way that
they cannot be thrown around.Secure objects, luggage or loads against
slipping or tipping over, e.g. by using tie
downs, even if you are using the cargo
compartment cover.*NOTE Damage to the cargo compartment
cover when loading the vehicle
The cargo compartment cover may be dam-
aged when the vehicle is being loaded.
Do not place any objects above the
lower edge of the side windows or on the
cargo compartment cover.
This equipment is available for all vehicles except
Mercedes-Maybach vehicles.
Extending/retracting the cargo compartment
cover

To extend: pull the cargo compartment cover
back by grab handle 1 and clip it into brack-
ets 2 on the les and right.
Retracting
Remove the cargo compartment cover from
the brackets on the les and right.Guide the cargo compartment cover forwards
using the grab handle until it is fully retracted.
The rolled-up cargo compartment cover can be used in two positions:
= Folded 45° upwards for loading (fold down
before commencing your journey)
= Horizontal position
Installing or removing the cargo compartment
cover
Requirements: = The cargo compartment cover is rolled up.
Removing the cargo compartment coverPress end cap 1 on the les or right inwards.Pull out the cargo compartment cover back-
wards.
Storing the cargo compartment cover
The cargo compartment cover can be stored
beneath the cargo compartment Ooor.
Open the cargo compartment Ooor .To insert: place cargo compartment cover 1
into brackets 2. Ensure it is seated correctly.To remove: take the cargo compartment cover

Installing the cargo compartment coverPlace the cargo compartment cover in brack-
ets 1 on the les and right.
The end caps of the cargo compartment cover
engage audibly.Attaching/removing the partitioning net&WARNING Risk of injury or death due to

The partitioning net alone cannot secure or
restrain heavy objects, items of luggage or
heavy loads.
You could be hit by an unsecured load, partic- ularly in the event of abrupt changes in direc-

Partitioning net with cargo compartmentenlargementTo attach: extend the partition net.Attach the top guide rod to holders 1 on the
headliner.Engage hooks 2 in eyelets 3 on the les and
right.Pull on the loose ends of the lashing straps
until the partitioning net is tight.Aser driving a short distance, check the ten-
sion of the partitioning net and re-tension it if
necessary.To remove: pull the belt clamps until the lash-
ing straps are loose.Remove hooks 2 from eyelets 3 on the les
and right.Remove the top guide rod from holders 1.

1Tie-down eyes
The front tie-down eyes are accessible when the
third row of seats is in the trunk Ooor position
(  page 130).
\bMercedes-Maybach vehicles: both tie-down
eyes on Mercedes-Maybach vehicles are loca-

Overview of bag hooks&WARNING Risk of injury when using bag
hooks with heavy objects
The bag hooks cannot restrain heavy objects
or items of luggage.
Objects or items of luggage may be Oung
around and hit vehicle occupants.
Only hang light objects on the bag hooks.Never hang hard, sharp-edged or fragile
objects on the bag hooks.
Observe the notes on loading the vehicle
(  page 125).
Subject the bag hooks to a maximum load of 6.6 lbs (3 kg) and do not attach any goods to them.

This equipment is available for all vehicles except
Mercedes-Maybach vehicles.

Coat hooks are not suitable for heavy objects.
Use the coat hooks only for light objects such as
jackets.
