When you adjust a seat, you may trap yourself

When adjusting a seat, make sure that
no one has an
y body parts in the sweep
of the seat. &

seat backrest are not engaged
The seat and seat backrest can fold forwards. There is a risk of the following, in particular:
= The v

ehicle occupant may be pressed
against the seat belt. The seat belt cannot
protect as intended and could cause addi-
tional injury.
= A child restraint system will no longer be
properly supported or positioned and will
no longer fulNl its function as intended.
= The seat backrest will not be able restrain
objects or goods in the load compartment.
Always ensure that the seat and seat backrest
are engaged, in particular:
= Before persons travel in the vehicle while
sitting on a seat with the easy entry and
exit feature
= Aser the seat has been adjusted.
= Aser the easy entry and exit feature has
been used
= Aser the load compartment enlargement
has been folded forwards Seats and stowing

Always ensure that all vehicle occupants have
t
heir seat belts fastened correctly and are sitting
properly. Particular attention must be paid to chil-
dren.
If you no longer require the folded-down rear seat
backrest as a load area, fold the backrest back
into place.
Make sure that the red marking of the lock veriN-
cation indicator is no longer visible. Otherwise,
the seat backrest is not locked.
Requirements: = Vehicles with a centre seat backrest: the
centre seat backrest is not in the luggage
compartment Ooor position.
= Vehicles with a folding rear armrest: the rear
armrest has been folded up. Seven-seater (example)

To fold the les or r
ight seat backrest for-
wards: brieOy press one of buttons 1.
The head restraint on the seat backrest will
move into a suitable position. The rear seat
will fold forwards.
Vehicles with a centre seat backrest: the
centre seat backrest will fold forwards
together with the les seat backrest. If a seat in the second row of seats is not engaged
and loc

ked, this will be shown on the multifunc-
tion display on the instrument cluster.

gage or heavy loads.
You could be hit by an unsecured load, partic-
ularly in the event of abrupt changes in direc-
tion, sudden braking or an accident. 
Always stow objects in such a way that

hey cannot be thrown around. 
Secure objects, luggage or loads against
slipping or tipping o

lashing material, even if you are using
the load compartment cover. *

Extending/retracting the load compartment cover Seats and stowing

To extend: pull t he load compartment cover
back by grab handle 1 and clip it into brack-
ets 2 on the les and right.
Retracting 
Remove the load compartment cover from the

ackets on the les and right. 
Guide the load compartment cover forwards
using t

he grab handle until it is fully retracted.
The rolled-up load compartment cover can be
used in tw
o positions:
= Folded 45° upwards for loading (fold down
before commencing your journey)
= Horizontal position
Fitting or removing the load compartment cover
Requirements: = The load compartment cover is rolled up. Removing the load compartment cover

Place the load compartment cover in brackets

The end caps of the load compartment cover
will engage audibly. Attaching/removing the partitioning net
