Charge the 12 V battery.

Apply the electric parking brake manually.
If it is not possible to apply the electric parking brake:

Where necessary, also secure the parked vehicle against rolling away.
To release: 
If the conditions for automatic release are fulNlled and t
he electric parking brake is not released automatically,
release the electric parking brake manually (  page 261).
