These functions are not available if the interior
lights were switched off manually.
The light functions may depend on the ambient
brightness.
After locking, wait 10 seconds before pressing
the button again.
SplitDoors
Generalinformation
To avoid locking it in the vehicle, do not place
the remote control in the cargo area.
Depending on your vehicle's equipment and
the country version, it is possible to specify
whether the doors are also unlocked when un~ locking with the remote control. Adjusting the
settings, refer to page 61.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Body parts can be jammed when operat~
ing the split doors. There is a risk of injury.
Make sure that the area of movement of the
split doors is clear during opening and clos~ ing. '

4.Push battery in the direction of the arrow
using a pointed object and lift it out.5.Insert a type CR 2032 battery with the posi~
tive side facing up.6.Insert lid and cover.7.Push the integrated key into the remote
control until it engages.

Proceed as follows in this case:1.Hold the remote control as shown againstthe marked area on the steering column.
Pay attention to the display in the instru~ ment cluster.2.If the remote control is detected:
Start the engine within 10 seconds.
If the remote control is not detected, slightly change the position of the remote control and
repeat the procedure.
Integratedkey
Generalinformation The driver's door can be locked and unlocked
without remote control using the integrated key.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Unlocking from the inside is only possible
with special knowledge.
Persons who spend a lengthy time in the vehi~
cle while being exposed to extreme tempera~ tures are at risk of injury or death. Do not lock
the vehicle from the outside when there are
people in it. '

Unlocking
On the driver's or front passenger's outer doorhandle, press the button.
Depending on the settings, refer to page 61,
only the driver's door and the fuel filler flap may be unlocked. Unlike when unlocking with
the remote control, pressing the button on the
outer door handle again does not unlock the
other vehicle access points. Rather, the vehicle is locked again.
If a door of a locked vehicle was opened from
the inside via the door opener, pressing the
button on the outer door handle first locks the vehicle again. To unlock, the button on the
outer door handle must be pressed again.
This is the case whether the vehicle was locked
automatically after driving off or via the central
locking system button from the inside.
Locking
On the driver's or front passenger's outer doorhandle, press the button.
Convenientclosing
Safetyinformation WARNING
With convenient closing, body parts can
be jammed. There is a risk of injury. Make sure
that the area of movement of the doors is clear
during convenient closing. '

ment of the split doors is clear during opening
and closing. '

With this movement, the leg must pass
through the ranges of both sensors.
Opening
1.Perform the foot movement described ear~
lier.
The right side of the split doors opens.2.After complete opening of the right side, make a second foot movement in order to
open the left side of the split doors.
Before the opening, the hazard warning system
flashes.
Malfunction Remote control detection by the vehicle may
malfunction under the following circumstances:
