PASSENGER COMPARTMENT
WARNING
Never use a fuse of higher or lower am-
perage rating than that specified on the
fuse box cover. This could damage the
electrical system or electronic control
units or cause a fire.If any electrical equipment does not oper-
ate, check for an open fuse.
1. Be sure the ignition switch and the headlight switch are OFF.
2. Pull the fuse box cover to remove.
3. Remove the fuse with the fuse puller.
4. If the fuse is open
A, replace it with an
equivalent good fuse
B.
5. Reverse step 2 to reinstall the box cover.
6. If a new fuse also opens, have the elec- trical system checked and repaired. It is
recommended that you visit a NISSAN
dealer for this service.

2. Locate the jumper harness connectorunder the lower portion of the instru-
ment panel. The connector is taped to
the wiring harness
1as indicated.
∙ The connector is marked with a white tag with “elec brake conn”.
Wire color designation for electric trailer
brake controller jumper harness.

RED/GREEN Vehicle stop lamp
switch to trailer brake
controller.
BLACK Brake controller
ground (-).
BROWN/WHITE Trailer brake controller
switched output.
RED/BLUE Not used
RED Fused trailer brake
controller battery feed
(B+).
3. Peel off the tape and connect the jumper harness to the connector.
4. Release the parking brake.
5. Install the af termarket electric trailer brake controller according to the
manufacturer’s instructions.

∙ Be certain your vehicle maintains a levelposition when a loaded and/or un-
loaded trailer is hitched. Do not drive the
vehicle if it has an abnormal nose-up or
nose-down condition; check for im-
proper tongue load, overload, worn sus-
pension or other possible causes of ei-
ther condition.
