collisions. Adjustable headrestraints mustbe
adjusted properly, asspecified inthis section.
Check theadjustment aftersomeone elseuses
the seat. Donot attach anything tothe head
restraint stalksorremove thehead restraint. Do
not use theseat ifthe head restraint hasbeen
removed. Ifthe head restraint wasremoved,
reinstall andproperly adjustthehead restraint
before anoccupant usestheseating position.
Failure tofollow theseinstructions canreduce
the effectiveness ofthe head restraint. Thismay
increase therisk ofserious injuryordeath ina
collision.
. Your vehicle isequipped withahead restraint that
may beintegrated, adjustableornon-adjustable.
. Adjustable headrestraints havemultiple notches
along thestalk tolock them inadesired
adjustment position.
. The non-adjustable headrestraints haveasingle
locking notchtosecure themtothe seat frame.
. Proper Adjustment:
Ð For theadjustable type,alignthehead restraint
so the center ofyour earisapproximately level
with thecenter ofthe head restraint.
Ð Ifyour earposition isstill higher thanthe
recommended alignment,placethehead
restraint atthe highest position.
. Ifthe head restraint hasbeen removed, ensure
that itis reinstalled andlocked inplace before
riding inthat designated seatingposition.

Use thefollowing procedure toremove thehead
restraint.
1. Pull thehead restraint uptothe highest position.
2. Push andhold thelock knob.
3. Remove thehead restraint fromtheseat.
4. Store thehead restraint properly inasecure place
so itis not loose inthe vehicle.
5. Reinstall andproperly adjustthehead restraint
before anoccupant usestheseating position.
