1. Park thevehicle onalevel surface andapply the
parking brake.
2. Start theengine andwarm itup until theengine
temperature reachesthenormal operating tem-
perature (approximately 5minutes) .
3. Stop theengine.
4. Wait atleast 10minutes forthe engine oiltodrain
back tothe oilpan.
5. Remove thedipstick andwipe itclean. 6.
Reinsert thedipstick allthe way.
7. Remove thedipstick andcheck theoillevel. It
should bewithin therange

, remove theoilfiller cap
and pour therecommended oilinto theopening.
Do not overfill

When fillingtheengine oil,donot remove
the dipstick.
9. Recheck theoillevel withthedipstick.
It is normal toadd some oilbetween oil
maintenance intervalsorduring thebreak -in
period, depending onthe severity ofoperat-
ing conditions.
CAUTION:
The oillevel should bechecked regularly.
Operating yourvehicle withaninsufficient
amount ofoil can damage theengine, andsuch
damage isnot covered bythe warranty.
CHANGING ENGINEOILAND OILFILTER

. Used oilmust bedisposed ofproperly. Never
pour ordump oilinto theground, canals,
rivers, etc.It should bedisposed ofatproper
waste facilities. NISSANrecommends hav-
ing your oilchanged byaNISSAN dealer.
. Be careful nottoburn yourself, asthe
engine oilmay behot.
. Prolonged andrepeated contactwithused
engine oilmay cause skincancer.
. Avoid directskincontact withused oil.If
contacted, washthoroughly withsoap or hand
cleaner andplenty ofwater assoon as
possible.
. Store usedengine oilinmarked containers
out ofthe reach ofchildren.

floor jackandsafety jackstands.

jack -up points.

A suitable adaptershouldbeattached tothe
jack stand saddle.
6. For HR16DE enginemodel,remove theplastic
engine undercover.

Remove thebolts andplastic clipsfromthe
undercover.
