SAFETY CHAINS

Always useasuitable chainbetween thevehicle and
trailer. Thechain should becrossed andshould be
attached tothe hitch, nottothe vehicle bumper oraxle.
Be sure toleave enough slackinthe chain topermit

TRAILER BRAKES

Ensure thattrailer brakes areinstalled asrequired by
local regulations. Alsocheck thatallother trailer
equipment conformstolocal regulations.
Always blockthewheels onboth thevehicle andtrailer
when parking. Applythehand brake onthe trailer if
equipped. Parkingonasteep slopeisnot recom-
mended.
If parking onasteep slopeisunavoidable, placethe
shift lever inthe ªPº (Park) position (Continuously
V ariable Transmission model)orthe shift lever inan
appropriate gear(Manual Transmission model),and
turn thefront wheels towards thecurb.
TRAILER DETECTION (ifequipped)

electrical kitand theturn signal switch isused, the
