2. Carefully putthespare tireonand tighten the
wheel nutswithyour fingers. Checkthatallthe
wheel nutscontact thewheel surface horizontally .
3. Tighten thewheel nutsalternately andevenly in
the sequence illustrated(

tight.
4. Lower thevehicle slowlyuntilthetire touches the
ground.
5. Tighten thewheel nutssecurely ,with thewheel
nut wrench, inthe sequence illustrated.
6. Lower thevehicle completely .
Tighten thewheel nutstothe specified torque
with atorque wrench assoon aspossible.
Wheel nuttightening torque:
108 N´m (11kg-m, 80ft-lb)
The wheel nutsmust bekept tightened to
specification atall times. Itis recommended
that thewheel nutsbetightened tospecification
at each lubrication interval.
WARNING:
Retighten thewheel nutswhen thevehicle has
been driven for1,000 km(600 miles) (alsoin
cases ofaflat tire, etc.).

1. Securely storethejack, tools andthedamaged
tire inthe storage area.
2. Replace thecargo floorboard.
3. Close theback door.

. Never leanover thebattery whilejump
starting.
. Never allowbattery fluidtocome into
contact witheyes, skin,clothes orthe
vehicle's paintedsurfaces. Batteryfluidisa
corrosive sulfuricacidwhich cancause
severe burns.Ifthe fluid comes intocontact
with anything, immediately flushthecon-
tacted areawithplenty ofwater.
. Keep thebattery outofthe reach ofchildren.
. The booster batterymustberated at12
volts. Useofan incorrectly ratedbattery will
damage yourvehicle.
. Never attempt tojump startafrozen battery.
It could explode andcause serious injury.

1. Place alarge drainpanunder thedrain plug.
2. Remove thedrain plugwithawrench.
3. Remove theoilfiller capand completely drainthe
oil.
If the oilfilter isto be changed, removeand
replace itat this time.
CAUTION:
Waste oilmust bedisposed ofproperly. Check
your local regulations.
4. Loosen theoilfilter withanoilfilter wrench.
5. Remove theoilfilter byturning itby hand.
6. Wipe theengine oilfilter mounting surfacewitha
clean cloth.
Be sure toremove anyoldgasket remaining onthe
mounting surface.
7. Apply newengine oiltothe gasket ofthe new oil
filter.
8. Screw inthe oilfilter untilaslight resistance isfelt
and then tighten anadditional 2/3ofaturn to
secure thefilter.
Oil filter tightening torque:
15 to20 N´m
(1.5 to2.0 kg-m, 11to15 ft-lb)
9. Clean andreinstall thedrain plugandnew washer.
Securely tightenthedrain plugwithawrench. Do
not use excessive force.
Drain plugtightening torque:
29 to39 N´m
(3.0 to4.0 kg-m, 22to29 ft-lb)
10. Refill therecommended engineoiland quantity .

citiesº (P.9-2) .)
When fillingtheengine oil,donot remove
the dipstick (exceptforHR16DE engine
model) .
11. Securely installtheoilfiller cap.
