Y our vehicle isequipped withavariable voltagecontrol
system. Thissystem measures theamount ofelectrical
discharge fromthebattery andcontrols voltage
generated bythe alternator.

Never useafuse ofahigher orlower amperage
rating thanthatspecified onthe fuse boxcover.
This could damage theelectrical systemor

If any electrical equipment doesnotoperate, checkfor
an open fuse.
1. Be sure theignition switchisin the ªOFFº
position.
2. Besure theheadlight switchisin the ªOFFº
position.
3. Open theengine hood.
4. Remove thefuse/fusible linkbox cover bypushing
the tab

5. Locate thefuse thatneeds tobe
replaced.

6. Remove thefuse using thefuse puller located in
the passenger compartment.
7. Ifthe fuse isopen

electrical systemchecked, andifnecessary repaired,

If any electrical equipment doesnotoperate, remove
the extended storagefuseswitch andcheck foran
open fuse.
NO TE:
If the extended storagefuseswitch malfunc-
tions, orifthe fuse isopen, itis not necessary to
replace theswitch. Inthis case, remove the
extended storagefuseswitch andreplace itwith
a new fuse ofthe same rating.
How toremove theextended storagefuse
switch:

2. Besure theheadlight switchisin the ªOFFº

4. Pinch thestorage fuseswitch andpullitin the
direction illustrated.

HEADLIGHTS

Fog may temporarily forminside thelens ofthe exterior
lights inthe rain orinacar wash. Atemperature
difference betweentheinside andtheoutside ofthe
lens causes thefog. This isnot amalfunction. Iflarge
drops ofwater collect insidethelens, contact a
NISSAN dealer.

Halogen headlight model

The halogen headlight isasemi-sealed beamtype
which usesreplaceable headlight(halogen) bulbs.
They canbereplaced frominside theengine compart-
ment without removing theheadlight assembly.
CAUTION:
High-pressure halogengasissealed insidethe
bulb. Thebulb maybreak ifthe glass envelope is
scratched orthe bulb is
dropped.

3. Pulloffthe rubber cap

4. Push andturn theretaining pin

to loosen it.
5. Remove theheadlight bulb.Donot shake orrotate
the bulb when removing it.
6. Install thenew bulb inthe reverse orderof
removal.
