For thevehicle equipped withrearsensor (Type
A) :
The system informwithvisual andaudible signalofrear
obstacles whentheshift lever isin the ªRº (Reverse)
position.
The system isdeactivated atspeeds above10km/h (6
MPH) .It is reactivated atlower speeds.
The intermittent tonewillstop after 3seconds whenan
obstacle isdetected byonly thecorner sensor andthe
distance doesnotchange. Thetone willstop when the
obstacle getaway fromthevehicle.
For thevehicle equipped withfront andrear
sensor (Type B):
The system informwithvisual andaudible signalof
front obstacles whentheshift lever isin the ªDº (Drive)
position andboth front andrear obstacles whenthe
shift lever isin the ªRº (Reverse) position.
The system isdeactivated atspeeds above10km/h (6
MPH) .It is reactivated atlower speeds.
The intermittent tonewillstop after 3seconds whenan
obstacle isdetected byonly thecorner sensor andthe
distance doesnotchange. Thetone willstop when the
obstacle getaway fromthe
vehicle.

object, thecorner sensor indicators

When thecenter ofthe vehicle movesclosetoan
object, thecenter sonarindicator

When theobject isdetected, theindicator (green)
appears andblinks andthetone sounds intermittently .
When thevehicle movesclosertothe object, thecolor
of the indicator turnsyellow andtherate ofthe blinking
increase. Whenthevehicle isvery close tothe object,
the indicator stopsblinking andturns red,andthetone
sounds continuously .

position.
. When thevehicle speeddecrease to10 km/h (6
MPH) .
The automatic turningonfunction canbeturned on

The sonar (parking sensor)systemOFFswitch onthe
instrument panelallows thedriver toturn thesonar
(parking sensor)systemonand off.To turn thesonar
(parking sensor)systemonand off,the ignition switch
must beinthe ªONº position.
The indicator light

on the switch willilluminate
when thesystem isturned on.
If the indicator lightflashes whenthesonar (parking
sensor) systemisnot turned off,itmay indicate a
malfunction inthe sonar (parking sensor)system.
The sonar (parking sensor)systemwillbeturned on
automatically underthefollowing conditions:
. When theignition switchisswitched fromthe
ªOFFº position tothe ªONº position.
. When theshift lever isshifted intotheªRº
(Reverse) position.
. When thevehicle speedincreases to10 km/h (6
MPH) anddecreases.
The automatic activationfunctioncanbeturned onand
off bypushing theswitch formore than4seconds.
